I recall someone posting a thread with a checklist or step-by-step guide for removing an engine but can't find it w/ search. It was posted within the past year or so. Anyone remember this, or who posted it, or a link?

Credit for this one goes to Skip Wolfe. I added my comments in blue.

This procedure is for removing the motor from below the car. While the motor can be removed from above and below, removing it from below allows it to be removed with the suspension, crossmember, crossover, and cat/cat pipe still attached which saves time. I tried to put the steps into groups that would be done together.

- Remove airbox/snorkel
- Remove intercooler hardpipes
- Disconnect throttle cable
- Disconnect cruise control cable

- Drain coolant
- Pull radiator hoses
- Unplug fan wiring
- Remove fan assembly from bottom – 6 screws
- Lossen top radiator support bolts and remove radiator from bottom (I am pretty sure I took the radiator out the top, but could be wrong)

- Remove rigid coolant line that goes across front of the car
- Disconnect coolant hose to coolant reservoir

- Remove Supply and return fuel lines from fuel rail and tie wrap out of the way.
- Remove wastegate
- Remove cat (or cat bypass pipe) to exhaust bolts (4 bolts) (I pulled the whole cat bypass pipe because it interfered with the mid-rise scissor lift I was using.)
- Torque tube to bell housing bolts (4)
- Remove starter (2 bolts + 2 electrical connections)
- Unbolt clutch slave cylinder (2 bolts) and let hang
- Disconnect ground strap on steering rack
- Coolant hoses to/from heater
- Remove clutch hardline bracket from the bellhousing

- Disconnect alternator wiring (2 electrical connections)
- Disconnect coil wire
- Remove cap and rotor (they can hang up when lowering the motor)
- Disconnect vacuum line from master cylinder booster

- Steering shaft from rack (I unbolted the pinch nut, and then popped the knuckle with a drift when I started to lower the engine)
- Disconnect PS cooler loop from reservoir
- Disconnect PS cooler loop from hose attached to the steering rack

- Swaybar body mounts
- Strut mount bolts (4 per strut)
- Caster block bolts (2)

- Unhook DME/KLR wiring harness from DME and KLR boxes.
- Disconnect signal tuning from KLR
- Feed DME/KLR wiring harness though firewall as motor is being lowered

Once all of this is completed you are ready to started dropping the motor. I used an engine hoist to support the engine with the car in the air, while I removed the 4 crossmember bolts. At this point you can slowly start to lower the motor using the hoist keeping an eye on what, if anything, the motor is catching up on. As the motor is lowered you will need to pull the motor forward as it is dropping to clear the input shaft of the torque tube – it is way longer than you would think so you will need to keep slowly stepping it down and lowering the motor. Patience is key for this portion of the job and you will need to keep repositioning as it goes. I found that three guys worked the best for this portion - 1 to operate the hoist, 1 to reposition the motor, and 1 to feed the wiring harness through the firewall as well as to check for the odd item hanging the motor up on its decent. Lower the motor onto a set of furniture dollies, which allows you to roll the assembly out from under the car.

I kept track of the steps I took and listed them in the link below. I'm sure there are more efficient ways, but the steps below are what I actually did.
