Default Question on wheels for my 951

There are these hollow spoke turbo twist rims for sale I'm very interested in. I was just wondering if I would need spacers for them to go on my 88' 951. The number for them is 993.362.140.00. To my knowledge they should fit without spacers.

How much do these usually run for in nice condition?

Also, if they're 10's in the rear with 285's will they fit without spacers?

I hate to be a jerk, but i think you ought to try a search first. This is a really common question!

What is the wheel offset?
What size are the wheels?

Nevermind. Sometimes I don't even know why I bother asking questions on here anymore. I wouldn't have asked if I'd found my answer in a simple search you wonderful, smart and intelligent person. The answer must be so simple, as I only had to take a few hours of calling around various places to get it. It's not like it was a specific question about specific wheels or anything.

The wheels won't fit anyway ehall, thanks though.

I'll think thrice before posting a question next time.

Don't get pissy. The reason that I asked the question is because I "think" the rears are et45 and 11' wide. If so, they won't fit.
On your car, you want to find as close to an et52 wheel as possible. For the most part, late model 951's shouldn't need spacers. Our problem is usually getting them to fit on the inside, rather than outside.
I went through this with a similar set of wheels. This stuff can get confusing, especially due to the various offsets.

FWIW, search on RL is about as useful **** on a Bull, ever since IB took over.
If you have a question, ask it...unless it has something to do with what it will cost you to turbo you 944 na or similar tripe.

At least you are a member, and won't get flamed for posting WTB or FS threads!

FWIW, they COULD work, but would need spacers (23MM IIRC or perhaps a 33...hmmm now I need to figure it out!) as they are 40MM offset 18x10 wheels.... You would need to experiment with spacers to get them to sit the way you wanted them (even with the outer lip of the fender vs recessed behind the fender... is your 88 an s model, or early 88?

10x18 (dimensions)

25.13 (Weight)

40 (offset, no backspace)

993.362.140.00, Rear Turbo (hollow spoke)

IMHO, the 993.362.136.00 would fit better (18*8 52mm offset, but they could be used on the fronts no problem... FWIW I have 18*8 front wheels on my 87 with no issues other than having to roll my fenders, my rears are 18*9.5 with a 52mm offset and were rubbing inner and outer fenders, but then my car is LOW, stock ride height wouldn't have half the problems I did...)

also do you have M030, because the target offset apparently is different on M030 951 cars... or at least based on what I just read!

nitehawk, that is the rear wheel for a wide body 993 and will not work on your car. The 993.362.140.01 is the narrow body offset hollow spoke 18x10 et65 and will fit without issue. Here is a good reference for OE Porsche wheels, 944racing.

Sorry ehall, it wasn't you. I was just having a 924 day yesterday and apologize. Very interesting input. I almost purchased a set of hollow spoke wheels with tires for $750 and you guys helped me out a lot, especially with that link. It's a shame they wouldn't fit because I think it would've been a nice deal.

So the numbers were 993.362.140.00 and 993.362.136.00 for the front. I now understand what most likely will fit without issues; a 993.362.140.01 for the rear. But the 993.362.136.00 would be appropriate for the front?

No, my 88' is not an S and the ride height is still stock. Since you ask this, I think it would make more sense to finish any suspension mod's I'm doing and then come back to my wheel diaspora. But when a deal like that comes up, I just have to strike. Thanks for your help you guys, really.

no sweat. I've been there and took a healthy loss when I couldn't make those wheels work. Narrow body 993 wheels, should fit.

Yes he 993.362.136.00 would be fine on teh front (18*8 et 52..)

I kind of did the same thing, some wheels right off the bat, then some suspension mods, then another set of wheels... now I am on to few more suspension mods and done..

FWIW, I am running 18*8 and 18*9.5 MY02 replicas, full coil over, ER monoballs, and am LOW still have some minor rubbing issues now and again, but am hopefull my next round of suspension mods will resolve that...

Were I to do it all again, I would wrap up suspension mods, then worry about wheel selection, but then I would have missed out on the deal I got on my wheels!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Yep. Same here. I got such a crazy deal on my wheels that I had to jump. Atleast these will fit! I talked with Tire rack yesterday, so wheels and tires will be on next week. I hope to have the exhaust on by Tuesday, so I'll install the WB02 and let ya know how it goes.
