Damn…I’m a little late…it did not look like your rear main seal was seated all the way in.

No Worries Chris the rear main is seated properly - the exact depth as factory installation. This will be the third rear main installation I have done in this manner, never a leak or issue. The trick (as I am sure you know) is to get the seal in straight.

Thanks though!

Getting real close - engine install is complete, oiling system is primed & building oil pressure

However no spark at the moment dang! Hope to get that sorted out quickly.

Then get this girl cleanup up!!

What sort of break-in procedure and oil are you planning on going with? I'm in the middle of a similar engine project with my S2 and I'm finding all sorts of different methods on how to get a rebuild engine up and running properly.

EDIT: After reading more closely I see you're using a low mileage short block and probably didn't touch the rings or bearings, so never mind.

Right - shortblock is broke in, cam and lifter also broke in.
I use a liberal amount of assembly lube everywhere and that real sticky red stuff from napa. GOOD STUFF!
For all my new engine I use a break in oil (usually Joe gibbs break in) 500 miles of varied use change oil, 1K change again, then to normal oil and intervals.

Only exception is for traditional flat tappet cams (traditional small diameter/surface area lifters) I also run ZDDP plus with each oil change and break in as well.

For this engine I went ahead and used zddp plus though I expect no real benefit. These engines don't have the high load on small surface area like traditional designs.

Now I better get out in the shop and see if I can find some spark!

WOW, THIS CARS RUNS GREAT! Can't wait to take it for shake down drive tomorrow and get it washed up.

The No spark issue was a dirty rotten bastard to track down, but finally got it figured out, bad DME chip. Fawk me - I could have chased my tail for days on that... glad I decided to just swap in the stock chip to test.

waiting on passenger outside door handle to arrive and will need to source some more chips.
This baby is getting close!

Thanks guys! I got it washed and quick waxed and drove it a bit today. It has come together very nice! What a joy to drive. This suspension and alignment and corner balance makes this car handle amazing. It is incredible. Check out the pics!

John - I need to get it up for sale. Planned to go for a quick sale at $8500..... but considering taking some more time to sell it......... this car has come together so well. I don;t know I should just get it gone. So many other projects and toys and so little time it seems.

Waiting on a passenger outside door handle and need to find some chips for this setup (Stock chips obviously won't do with the mods and 1 bar boost). Then it will be ready to be sell.
