Aftermarket LSD and TBDs: Interchangable between 968 and 944?
I was wondering whether aftermarket LSD and TBD units like the Guard or Quaife products are interchangable between 968 and 944 transmissions? I've been told that the if the units fit a 968 box they should also fit an S2 tansmission, for example -- but I thought I'd ask if there are any "gotchas" I should know about to do with gearing differences, etc.
Also, can anyone point to a write-up describing installing one of these things?

No, 968 uses G50 style LSD, 944/951 are different.
Installing a LSD is not difficult, you just need some unique tools. If you never been inside a transmission before, you might want to have someone with experience do the installation for you. A minor mistake will create a expensive and heavy pile of junk.

Thanks, John.
I also located this old thread which discusses some of the issues:

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on this.
