It should be interesting in the trailer park this year – the Daytona 500 is on valentine’s day.

Lets see how many ‘household accidents’ happen on that Sunday….

You don't have any concern about baking the block at 400 degrees, eh?

Perhaps some high temp powder was used to coat it.

His wife will be the one pushing him to get it done... so she can drive it to work....

And I am almost wiling to bet, if he asked, she might just be willing to let him keep a spare engine in the living room... his avatar is her car....

He is not concerned about the powder coating....he is worried about dimensional changes to the block. I know for experience that valve guide can move or even fall out when you bake a head to that temp.

For the head, I had it powdercoated before any head work was done, which included replacing the valve guides.

For the block, I'm sure if baking caused problems, it'll be a spectacular failure that will make for an interesting post on here.

John, you're completely right. My wife wants me to get it done ASAP so we can bring two Porsches with us to Hershey this year.

Carlege, I had to show my wife your post and she must have laughed for 10 minutes straight. Her reply to me was, "But you won't spend the WHOLE weekend working the car, will you?" Proper response? "Of course not!"

//BREAK//

Where can I find hoses to replace the originals on the "injector control," that mass of hard lines welded together that goes from the cycling valve to the banjo bolt on the IC pipe and from the AOS to the intake boot? I picked up a replacement from eBay, but the condition of the hoses was at least as bad as the ones I removed. Can I use some silicon vacuum lines for the cycling valve and some oil resistant hoses from Napa for the AOS/Intake lines?

Why not just delete all that crap? mine has been gone for months now... AOS to catchcan (or J boot if you don't do the catch can) , venturi delete, aftermarket boost control and the steel octopus is GONE... much cleaner under the intake with all that crap out of there...

Dammit John... Now I'm thinking even MORE mods! I still have to buy all of the parts to replace the slave cylinder lines... You're just giving me too many good ideas not to follow them all!
