Got these off ebay the other day. Now I am plotting what to do with them. I need to strip off the old paint but from there I can't decide between polishing, powdercoating or painting. Heck - for that matter I am not sure what car to put them on

I have similar wheels although they are the Mille Replicas and they need refinishing
NYPOWR4 how much did they charge you to do the wheels? ive gotten estimates for powdercoating from 60 dollars to 125 a wheel

The black chrome option is probably a little more expensive than single color powder coats. I paid $45 a wheel to have 3 colors done on 3pc wheels. The place was in allentown, about 20 mins from Bath (where wheel collision is)
edit: looks like the black chrome is $230 per wheel. http://www.wheelcollision.com/powder.html

Burning Brakes
wow, all the love for the cup 1's! opened this thread expecting to see something far more exotic, but i agree that cup 1's are the simple, basic best looking 5 spoke wheel.
also, all the talk of "black chrome" is scaring me. anything sounding like, resembling, close to or even mildly adjacent to chrome is a sin in my book. not only is chrome so chintzy looking, but it ruins the wheel. chrome + aluminum=corrosion which never goes away. ask me how i know; my cup wheels were chrome when i bought them. i painted them black and now 5 years later i've had leaking wheels ever since i bought them. the tire shop says they can grind the bead but it will eventually leak again and i finally bought metal screw-on valve stems and now i've stopped the leaking on all but one. i'm sure there are ways to prevent the chrome from destroying the aluminum but i doubt many places actually bother.
anyways, forgive me if the black chrome is in no way chrome. but still, just paint them black if you want them black. uhh, that'll solve the embarrassment of actually having to tell people that the wheels on your car are "black chrome!"

Just bought a set too! 17X9 all around.
Will use them for rain tires. I will have them sandblasted and I will repaint them gloss black (easier to clean the brake dust after each rainy session).
