Why wouldn't you buy some from one of the aftermarket companies out there? You can get them polished, chromed or powdercoated in almost any color you can think of.

I'm still running factory piping... I can't image there is much to gain from going with pretty pipes. At least not for anyone under 400rwhp.

Mine suffered an engine fire. It's currently getting a new engine. Thanks Lindsey Racing, for your awesome flammable products.

rogue dude are you serious thats what i used when i did a few test runs but i feel like the bends and kinks are not good. but hey a gtood turbo should compensate for the kinks. what about the turbo to IC pipe seems pretty simple to make, get rid of the rubber part

Well I'm sure there is some power to be gained by making a straighter turbo-to-intercooler pipe. But really how much power? I'm betting not much.
Now if you are running a ported head, aftermarket intake manifold, larger throttle-body, improved intercooler. That is a different story.
But for the majority of guys, hard-pipes are just pretty, not a realistic HP improvement, IMO.

I'm making my own...as I'm going to a FMIC. Not hard to do if you can weld, or know someone that can. Just buy a few bends off of summit/etc.

i think mugatu hard pipes are a rip offf but i also think there are not complicated enough to get very creative or exprssive with .. dig around a few engine bay shots i think putting a strait pipe turbo to cooler using the standard coupler turned a bit makes alot of sense and would cost next to nothing of coarse the airbox needs to be gone but as for the other one hold off until you are sure what your doing with MAf's and breather tanks throttle bodies BOV's . etc perhaps weld a 45 on a plate where the Throttle body goes perhaps go for one of those golf twin throttle things that are apparently more progressive ...

to do somthing nice you need all the stuff there in front of you as you will change your mind ... well i know do ..

Does one out of two count?

The pipe that I replaced is from the intercooler to the throttlebody. It is 2 3/8" OD coming out of the intercooler. The factory pipe is 2" OD and has many contortions which I doubt are helpful to good flow. The throttlebody is 2 3/4" OD. Going from 2 3/8" down to 2" and then back up to 2 3/4" can't be good for flow.

The pipe I created(ok, my friend made it) is 2 1/2" OD straight pipe. 2 3/8" up to 2 1/2", then up to 2 3/4" with a much straighter route should help a little.

I have a noticeable change in power. I believe it is from relocating my AFM and opening up the breathing for that more than the effects of the new intercooler pipe. Why did I do the new intercooler pipe??
Because the original one would not fit with the AFM in its new location.

I will be replacing the other one at some point in the not to distant future.

...just starting the countdown to blast-off.

Seriously, I don't know you story, but when you post something that a product caused a fire you it almost inflammatory (good pun huh?) if you cannot prove that was the root cause. Fires, in general, can be hard to assign to blame to. How do you know it was the product and not a poor install?

Because the pipes, like many other parts/upgrades, can easily be made/sourced for 1/10th the cost of the vendors.

The LR fuel rail has a long and proven history of pulling out of the intake manifold, since it mounts with only two M6 bolts. I am not sure if that is his cause, but I assume it is. Same thing happened to Special Tool and a few others, and my DIY rail with only two bolts tore out as well.

For a long time, the LR rail was the only aftermarket rail around. Now theres the CEP one thats the same price, and is a MUCH better design and construction, and uses all four original bolts.
