Default how to hook up A/F ratio gauge

Can I just run the gauge to the stock O2 sensor? It is a cheap gauge. I need a wideband but don't have the money right now. Can I just tap into the stock O2 sensor wires. where should I tap into the wire.

For the wideband gauges, they use a separate O2 sensor. Where would that be place in the exhaust?
thanks

A wideband o2 sensor should ideally be placed away from excessive heat and pressure. Most here usually mount it on the test pipe at the last bend before the cat. Do a search, there is quite a bit of info on this.

You can see where the bung for the WBo2 sensor is here on my 3" test pipe:

it wouldnt really tell you much, the NB02 basically cycles its output within a certain voltage range to keep the average AFR correct, like it will be lean and rich and then lean again and then rich. i suppose you could figure a way to scale an AFR to the voltage range though, dunno how.

I like it in the vertical section of the test pipe before the bend going to the back, at the point where the oil pan angles inward, with the bung angled slightly downward - this prevents any moisture from collecting on the sesnsor.
