Exhaust Manifold warped and twisted?
I am doing a bunch of stuff to my 88 951. My mechanic removed the exhaust manifold from the head so i could replace exhaust studs and rework the head. After putting the head back on, my mechanic swears he can't get the exhaust manifold back on. says it looks like two flanges are twisted 10-20 degrees. (IE: all the holes do not line up and i'm pretty sure they should. I'll try to post pics once it's off the car.) He has tried prybars and is worrried putting it back on will snap exhaust studs which is why i did this in the first place.
Who has experience putting the exhaust manifold back on the head? Is this normal or do i have to get a new one? If i need a new one whats an inexpensive way out?

Similar to what happened when I had to replace my head. A little trial-and-error regarding which runner to bolt in first and enlargement of a couple flange holes was needed.

If you are looking for an excuse to get new headers you may also want to look at these by SFR.
