The KLR controls boost using the CV. The majority of people use a manual or electronic boost control, which eliminates the KLR's boost control responsibility. The only thing the KLR does then is look for knock and pull timing accordingly. No real need to change the chip, unless the KLR is being used for boost control.

Knock sensor... The KLR filters the signal, to detect true knock.

So the reason for a seperate knock counter if you wanted is to see the actual counts to help with tuning. But safetywise if you have a good klr and stock knock sensor it will still automatically pull timing even when using tunerpro. is this correct? any way to see knock counts on tunerpro?

Yes, the KLR will automatically pull timing with whatever DME software...
No way of integrating it into TunerPro (yet).

So the US cars have a knock sensor eh. We don't have them over here in europe, as far as I know anyway.

All of the 944Turbos have knock sensors and the KLR...
The 944NA did not have either. The 16valve variants had knock sensors, but no KLR (the DME was upgraded to handle it).

Just read this thread again. Great stuff.
I'm assuming though that this means I can't use my old LR chips most likely. I'll have to find my stock chips then and reinstall them.
I already have my powerperfect scaling down the voltages to run my 72# injectors, so I figure tunerpro will enable me to fine tune it and also mess with timing.

A page or two back someone asked about changing timing with the factory FQS selector I believe. Is this capability within tunerpro?
I like the idea of being able to switch from position 0 to position 1 on the FQS switch and go to a richer map with slightly more timing for e85.
Then again if I had my laptop with me I guess I could just upload a different saved .bin also.
