Default 3.0 8V engine build complete

After 3 years of thorough preparation and a slow build dictated by moderate income, attention to detail and limited spare time I am happy to share some pictures of my now up and running, privately-built 3.0 8V turbo engine that was first fired up three weeks ago.

I have driven the car 3000km so far and will wait for cooler days to do proper tuning then raise the boost a bit and begin to see what it's capable of.
We have had an exceptionally hot summer and since I ditched the AC driving is one of the last things I enjoy doing at the moment.

Comments are welcome

^^ +1 on "please explain *951 airbox with optimised snorkel (work in progress)*"
There was another recent thread on this, but it appears to have died without a finished product being made. There are a few of us looking for a solution that uses the stock J Boot & AFM, but gets higher flow air from somewhere other than right behind the radiator/intercooler. That's what we need to comply with stock class race rules, of course.

That is absolutely Amazing! Wow, what a clean and thorough build. I like the use of the mostly stock intake parts. Makes everything look at home. That's very nice.

Hows the clutch workin' out for you? I heard that a KEP2 with stock flywheel and 930 disc doesn't work. That the disc is too thick and it won't fully disengage.

Thom, been following your progress on the gb website, nice work, very detailed and neat. The one thing I would change straight away to your setup is to swap the 968 fuel pump for the Bosch 044 motorsport fuel pump. If all is working as it should it will definately become the weak link. Good to see you up and running.
