or we could do California Speedway (Roval).

Otherwise, you pay for the private track day and we'll come to you. Reverse deal.

I'm sure I have some track time coming up there anyway.

The schedule would be up to you. Since it's your home town track. "Reverse deal". You pay, you setup, your town.

Obviously I would need a few dates to select from since it's 500 miles away.

Let me know when it's tuned and ready.

Oh... and just to clarify... if you "bring your driver", since you're not going to be driving yourself.... he can't be a pro driver.

Other than that schedule away. But like I said I need a few date/date ranges to pick from as I've got several races scheduled over the next few months.

Let me know.

I am not implying that they do not last, but from my personal experience, these motors seem to wear out significantly (maybe 20%-30%?) on the performance side as they increase in mileage...not a good ratio IMO. Try this:

Find a dealer that has a low mile Vette, then find one with a high mile Vette. Test drive both.....the difference should be extremely noticeable. So much, that you might think a bit more about why these motors get so worn out/tired and/or have a much more abbreviated performance life span than the 2.5l.

Inversely, I have driven a 22k mile 951, own a 60k mile 951 and have driven a few 100k mile plus 951's....and they were all relatively the same.

Just something to think about, not trying to start an entirely different arguement....and yes, this is from experience NOT speculation.
Patrick,

in regard to the longevity of SBC's I have ran them for years and they will hold up very well ..even before the LS. I had and 87 Vette with over 195k on it and the last 30k was on nitrous quite a bit. My last chevy gas tow vehicle had over 275k on it when hit by a DD.

As for the banter..... I hope to see the race happen I'll throw a bill in to see it and I have a good friend out there so I'd fly out on that weekend

Tone's "tone" is a little out of line reading the whole thread IMO. I thought most of the LS guys were pretty cordial and helpful reading back.

I did elevate it. Wont lie. Didnt mean to, but can see how it comes across like that when written down. I think it was built up from many threads, and comments in general tho. My apologies if I come across as crass. I was chill until people starting coming out of the blue to attack me. Then I thought things had reached a happy medium again, until someone decided I need to change my "tone", i was under the impression that was already the case at that point. Every one is so sensitive, and touchy round here. Really starting to think its not the place for me. Im sure I wont find many to disagree...whatever. Aint like rennlist has really been much for me but one argument to the next, and a headache, and beat up, poorly built "well sorted rennlist cars". I guess im "abrasive" LOL. Boo hoo. At least vette guys arent touchy, and sensitive. hahaha.

Hey, when you all nail down your exact plans, post date/time/location.

If I can make it happen with my responsibilities at work, I want to see this.

If you want to do pro's then I'll have Gene Sigal (one of the pros I practice with) drive.

It's up to you.

Sid,
Understood.

In my experience the LS motors (98 Vette, 02 Vette) were great in the lower mileage (0-70k/80k) then seemed to just gradually fall off as the mileage increased. By the time the 98 hit 100k, it felt like a boat anchor....comparatively speaking (to comparable lower mileage LS's), and the same in the '02, although perhaps not as bad. These were straight stock LS1 (both) and were dealer maintained religiously....and driven hard. They still ran fine, just seemed to have what I would term a significant drop in power over the years/mileage.

Maybe it is my driving style that wears them out so quick......for some reason stoplights remind me of track trees.....
