The engine is currently complete, from oil pan to intake. It has 235k miles on it and the headgasket had just blown. The PO stopped before it overheated and sold it to me. I was going to use it in a project but my wallet is too empty so I'm chucking it!

I don't know what kind of specific info I need to put. I was about to take the head off to take a pic of the bores - is that a good thing to do? Someone is interested in buying the head - is the block worth more with the head or does it not matter?

For the entire long block I'm asking $2k, for just the shortblock $900, for just the head $900. I'd rather sell the whole thing to one buyer, and I'd rather not ship anything!

hmm...are you sure that the headgasket is blown? If you haven't already, a quick compression and/or leakdown check to verify that might be worthwhile. Once you have those numbers, and especially if the HG is in fact bad, then taking pictures of the bores and the coolant galleys would be useful.
