Are you sure the original covers were used? That was the point of my post above.
Yes, the original covers were used. Are they interchangeable between the top and bottom one? I really don't remember that.

the upper cover is tapped for the oil feed, and the lower is not. It would be hard to swap them.

no the upper one has the oil feed for the turbo integrated. Ive seen some get noticably tight until torqued down properly by the pulley.

so is there a chance the balance shaft may be slighly bent?

is there a diffrence between the LR balance shaft delete for the early and late carrs?
