He might have changed it by now.

Yes... Dry sump is one thing left out of that list.

In reality he probably has changed it by now, but as we all know there are a few things we can all do to add a bunch of HP for moderate $$, but then there is a point that is reached where the $$ per HP begins rapidly going up (AKA point of diminishing return), to reach 602 there is ALOT of money in there, and the rapid climb in $ per HP is probably more than some people have in their cars...

Not to mention TOOL originally stated he was on regular pump gas, but in his list he shows Gas W Aromatics (additives)...Hmmmm

I just thought I would share what I found when I googled "944 Dyno Sheets"

ST has never hidden the fact that his highest numbers were made using huge boost and his own home brewed fuel.

Hey, more power to him (pardon the pun). Looks like a whole lot of effort and money for little more than bragging rights... Unless he was running NOPI nationals before they got canceled...

I am planing on going to 944 fest this year, but I don't plan on taking up the hobby of throwing obscene amounts of money time and effort into making my car a trailer queen, but that is just me...

To each his own, I would love to watch Tool break his old record, and will only be shaking my head wondering at the magic he used to do it, but will never try to match or beat his best attempt... Now if he were to start offering kits, ala Lindsey Racing, then he might be on to something....

Saying his turbo is a "T4" is about as general as you can get. It is also one of the most important factors in his claimed power out put. It is what many people would be most interested knowing the specs on.

At the drag strip I could see he still had a T04-e housing, so his comp wheel was no bigger than 67mm (LR super 75). His T4 turbine looked to be about a .68a/r.

I have said many times tool is a very different person in person. In person he told me that his turbo was what I just said and with a p-trim turbine wheel. Ok, so why so secret on line. Why has he alsways been so secret about turbo specs. His turbo was nothing special at all, in fact other than the T4 turbine housing it is a very common turbo on this forum.

It is infact almost identical to the turbo tool took off of rolexs old car to replace with a "super special" VR turbo. I don't know if rolexs old turbo even ever sold, this could be it with a .68a/r housing put on it.

Point being many people would like to know what the turbo is, why not just share. It goes back to the whole contributeing to the community thing. Unless he didn't want people having the final key to being able to calculate his actual power out put?

Yeah but having said that, what does it matter. The 'Fest is what it is. A dyno shootout. How he or anyone else chooses to get their max isn't vitally important. It's really just a bit of fun. Clearly ST doesn't really care that much, it's just an exercise for him in achieving his or the car's best potential. What he published on some obscure forum probably some time ago is irrelevant. It's like you trying to achieve your best time on the strip or others on the track. We're all just having a bit of fun and trying not to take these bench races too seriously.

Yeah, but if he told everyone what he is running with there would be no room for competition, I am sure if everyone in a spec race had to ballast their car to the original weight and distribution of weight then there would be allot less people stripping out interiors and door handles and such to save a pound here or there, by keeping his combo quiet, or misleading he keeps some of the edge that has helped him be kind of the dyno in the past.

I personally don't care what his setup is, I enjoy driving my cars too much to even contemplate trying to duplicate it as this level of performance is good for dyno runs and not much else.

I see what he does as contributing to keeping the dyno shootout interesting, if everyone showed up with the same car how much fun would it be, you would spend all day waiting to see someones car grenade on the dyno. Personally I think that would be fun to watch, but I have always been one to get a kick out of watching other peoples stuff either blow up or burn down, but not if I have to watch 300 people do 602 Hp dyno pulls to see one grenade...

Ok, I just got off the phone with ST...and he has agreed to leak out some info on his turbo to keep everyone off his back.

Keep in mind this is a new "prototype" and he wouldn't release all the details, but said that if you guys wanted to try an keep up, this is definitely what you would need to run:

-BRIGGS AND STRATTON TWIN BLADE 52" CAST IRON KOHLER.

Now it takes a bit of modifying to make it fit, but if everyone gets started now, you can have it in before the 'fest....lol

No, he opted not to go with propane, but the turbo is independently powered by a 50cc 2 stroke.

I'm telling you.....you guys better get this **** installed, or you might as well stay home.
