But the 16V is so good looking. Don't mind the loose wires, I was still putting stuff together at that point.

Thanks Tom,
Thought its not nearly as sorted looking as I want it to be. Its still a bit messy looking under the hood.

I like that very much. I think all the big capacity 944t's are stealth over here. What power figures are you getting with the standard AFM and intake route though? Paul S gained 50hp in 30mins by putting a Vitesse maf on his car.. it is tempting to do as you can use the standard airbox and keep it pretty subtle.

I've never dyno'd it like that picture, unless smog-dynos count. For dynojet purposes, the motor looks more like this:

Tom – you might want to have the plenum brace mod done to you intake….

Haha Wow! Your kidding with the original picture right? That's quite some setup. What throttle body is that you have and was it easy to get it to work with the standard throttle position sensor? Also which coil pack ignition system is that? I would like to think about those two mods for my car.

Does freeing up the intake restrictions in that way make a big difference to the feel of the car? I'm trying to judge whether its worth going all out as you have done or leaving it standard for stealth like I did before. I hear my old car is making 420hp and 495lb/fb torque on the original intake system now (just a vitesse maf that's non standard). So that's not a bad feat. Makes me wonder if it could be a lot quicker with all those restrictions removed.

There's a brace inside... Is there something else I should have? I'm actually thinking about trying a different approach altogether.....

Chris, were you referring to an internal brace because of the large plenum, or were you talking about a brace holding up the weight of the plenum?

The original SFR intake did not have a center 'post' inside and the plenum would balloon a little under boost – the aluminum could eventually fail from the fatigue. They can be updated. Usually you can see the welding for the post in the center of the plenum.

Default 3.0l troubles

long...very long story short..bought car 2.5yrs ago new motor but guy put wg in backwards..no boost gauge so many head gaskets later...new Lindsey Racing 3.0l motor w/ All goodies. got it running but super rich...broke in cam for 20 min(this is the porsche shop!!) and then played for days testing, etc. $10000 shop bill later and still cant run cause too rich!!
sent all wiring and stuff back to LR and Dave found the aftermarket injector harness that came in the car when i bought it was wired wrong...but the car always ran fine fuel ratio wise.. when it did run! so now im taking it back to the shop to try that.
thats where im at now...oh ya new motor has been sitting in the car for 7 months now in the garage....so sad everyday i walk outside past my car!

Adam, Great looking car -- I'll add you to the list. So sorry your car is sidelined with that problem. If it is consistently too rich, it should be relatively easy to isolate the problem (I know, easy for me to say). What engine management do you have? Worst case, you could always start over with a proven system from Vitesse -- injectors, MAF, DME board/software. That would get you up and running overnight!
