Default 1986 951 Transaxle needed, Seattle area

Just looking to see if anyone in the Seattle area has a 951 transaxle for sale. Current transaxle has 1st gear starting to fail (groaning noise in 1st only) and it looks like it would be cheaper/easier to just replace the transaxle as opposed to replacing the gears.

The transaxle cooler is required, but an LSD is not. If I can get an LSD transaxle at a price that is not stratospheric, that would be a plus, but with the price differential between an LSD unit and a non-LSD unit being $1,500 or more, I can continue to live without an LSD in the car.

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

Hey Dan, been quite a while, eh?

The 'teener is still running strong, but the 951 has been a money pit. A fun money pit, but a money pit. I figure on putting in a used transaxle and then rebuilding the old one as time and finances permit so that I then have a transaxle that I'm sure of.

Hey Aaron,

You might want to talk to Darryl at AA Transaxle in Duval. I had him just do some R&R on mine and he was quite reasonable and willing to work with me. He's open to 'just fix what's needed' vs. 'rebuild the entire unit or nothing' approach. PM me if you want more details - doesn't look like we are far apart.

I've got a 951 tranny w/ LSD and tranny cooler. In great shape, but with 130k on the clock. I know it's not exactly what you're after, but let me know if you're interested.
