Default What fuel pump to buy?

I have 83lb injectors so i'm thinking it might be a good idea to upgrade the fuel pump. Right now i'm just looking but what is the max potential of the 044? Does anyone have any experience with aeromotive?

That's a lot of fuel injector for a (60-1) turbo? We have a very affordable pump that installs easily that will support 400WHP all day. 460 Max. Our HV Pump.

I know it is, They were the same price so i figured it's better to buy them once. I'm still far from done with this engine so there still may come a time when i'll need the extra flow, i'm just taking it easy on my wallet for a while.

FWIW, you can get the 044 here http://boschfuelpumps.com/ for $199. Cheapest I have seen them.

does that come with the adapter fitting?

if so thats pretty cheep. Gabe put a 044 pump in my car that came with the supplied needed fittings and was supposed to be completely bolt up. From what I understand none of the are quite plug in play and will need some slight modification to fit properly.

either way i'd think you could get fittings pretty cheep. 199 aint bad. I think I paid 260 or so.

Isn't the HV one that was supplied with one of the 928s so that should be able to supply you plenty of fuel for some pretty decent upgrades. Also it's a straight swap whereas the 044 requires some fiddling around and it's meant to be noisy from what I've heard....no pun intended.

I can't count how many times I've posted up links to cheaper 044 pumps.
Watch ebay. There ARE chineese copies that aren't real. (Copies are typically found by a completely polished container)

Get the 044. You will never be sorry. seen 700@wheels personally.

ah so the HV is the 928GTS pump.

if thats true then it is a direct drop in. The 044' pump like I said takes some modification even with the "adapter". I was talking to gabe about it while he was installing it and I said I paid a extra 50 bucks to have all nessesary hardware for "bolt on assembly". He just kinda laughed at me and said no 044 pump is direct drop in. They all require work.

He also said the 928GTS pump flows more than enough and is direct drop in. Interesting if the HV pump is the same one.

^^That's the one John^^ Most of us could get away with the 'HV' one 90% of the time.

Not for E85 . For myself I really wish I had just went with 126# or larger injectors from the start....of course now I wish I had went with a much larger turbo as well.

86# injectors
60-1 HiFi
35 psi max boost on E85
Never once blew a headgasket, going on 6 years since I last had the head off.

To OP, set your end goals for HP/TQ and determine from that how much fuel you will need. Either the 044 or the HV pump will work for 99.7% of us here. If your in the .3% above 500hp then go with 2 pumps.

You need to be careful when buying a 044 pump. We had a Chinese manufacturer offer us
copies right down to the yellow and red Bosch packaging for less then $25 each. It looked identical
in every way to the 044. We didn't want someone coming back on us with a melted piston only to later find out the pump we sold him was a counterfeit. That's fraud. If you sell and advertise it as a
cheap copy of the real thing, that's another deal.

OK, is it just me or is this like the pot calling the kettle black.

So, Mr Lindsey, are we to expect a disclaimer added to your web site now??
