Sean,

After you get that new turbo dialed in maybe you will beat me this time on race #2?

Just dynoed it on a Mustang dyno (known to read 10-15% below dynojet). I dont have the charts emailed to me yet.
16 psi on 91 octane fuel.
peak 303hp @ about 5800.
315 ftlbs @ right about 4000 310 ftlbs at 3050 to 4800.

Average of 243hp from 2000-6500
average tq 271 from 2000-6500

89 degrees 27.4 barometer ambient. Less than ideal.

I will post the dyno sheet when I get it.

nice. Your motor is completely stock right? If so thats not bad at all. I wish the peak hp number was a little lower in the band but, tq's not bad at 4k.

And hooray for Peoria hot lapping.
I only want to do this once (buying a new turbo). With a decent 8 valve head and a couple other things do we speculate this turbo (the 71) is good for 400 crank hp on pump gas w/o getting too hot?

EDIT: looking again "310 ftlbs at 3050 to 4800" is just awesome! Going by John @ VR "For every 1 psi increase in boost, we expect an increase of 12-15rwhp" this turbo could be what I need.. My goal is to put my car on the dyno and then my Dad's C5 Z06 on the same dyno and have a higher peak number, on pump gas (hasn't changed since Dad bought his Corvette, kind of made a bet with him :-) ).

Again, the damn thing's got TONS of usable torque. Sean, man I wish I could've been there. Damn. Let's get it up to 18 or 19 psi and see what happens!

Any word or do you have a contact at Tial that I could shoot an email to?

Tial will only sell to you if you have an account. We sold that off years ago. (Hobby shop now)

We waited 4 weeks for our GT35R TIAL SS housing. No limit motorsports out of California. We paid retail. our suppliers didn't have access. So we just searched around the internet. I love the internet. I'm old enought to remember when... I degress.

Look them up and call them. They're on back order, but it came in eventually.

When you say for 'our GT35' do you mean for someone else as you're running a smaller unit aren't you? Do you have any pics of the 35 unit?

For the GT35 crowd you could possibly get a mount for the GT frame from them then do your own turbo. You may also get a line kit when they are done. I told them the mount and line kit may be a hot item for big motor and track guys who do not have stock exhaust or have a custom intake. With the mount I think you will be hard pressed to have clearance issues as with the stock mount.
For the gt35 you will have to contact the vendors. if you just want a mount email their tech line on their website.

Mod list is
SFR 3"exhaust including DP.
Vitesse chipboard and MAF (Great out of the box tune for a turbo he has never even seen)
75lb injectors
Fidanza flywheel
mild ported head (more of a clean up) on the intake side, stock valves.
cracking/missing ceramic in the exhaust port (I have another head I'm building)

I think the ported head does give it a bit of a higher potential but not on the low end where this is so strong. I also think the missing ceramic in the exhaust port hurts my short turn flow substantially. Possibly enough to make the porting a moot issue.

Its for someone else.
I have the GT30

Pics here. But not of the one in the shop. Here are a few comparisons of the GT45. pics don't show it completely. So much smaller looking in person.

Considering how much thinner that stainless housing is than the cast iron one, I don't think it looks that much smaller.

Thanks 95ONE. I thought that's what you meant. I think the size difference is significant enough and I believe that the weight is also considerably less.
