Or for us foreigners...
Looks pretty nice on paper but really for a collector rather than user I'd guess.

That car was used plenty on the track and hopefully the new owner will continue to do so. I've been passed by that car at Nelsons.
Awesome car, I wonder if he'd trade for a 968 cab and a built 951?
Regards,

I know the owner of that car pretty well, and have instructed in it a couple times at Mid-Ohio. Very well prepared - he spared no expense - and fast as hell. $29k is a good deal all things considered.

For god or worse, every modification that changes from the original setup of a true Cup car reduces it's historical value. The very reason that I sold my own Cup car, modifying it to modern standards in regards of safety and lap time improvement would reduce it's value.
I don't think this car is interesting to collectors because of the modifications.

+1. If I'm buying a cup car, I want the thing to look and run exactly as it did as new. If I want to go race to be fast, I'll build up a car with no historical importance and modify the hell out of it (and be faster, much faster, in the process).
I'd still run the cup hard, knowing full well that it's not going to be as competitive, and I'd have as much fun as the guy in the modded car too.

To each his own I guess. The car is cool as hell and is very mildly modified - the money was spoent in rebuilding the engine, restoring the body, etc., not in doing all sorts of mods. The car still has all the cool goodies that made the cup car special. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money.

I like the trailer. ;-)
The car is fantastic, but like some say, it's neither fish nor fowl. It's not a time capsule, and as a track b!tch, it's fast, but very expensive.
Of course, I'm in favor of anything that suggests that 944s could some day be collectible!

No Magnesium Phone Dials.
Looks like a great car, however I was kinda sad when I clicked the link, and didn't really see a "944 Cup Car". For a 944 Racer it looks to be a really good setup car.
