Turbo and Clutch upgrades
Looking to upgrade my clutch. I've read that under pressure performance makes good clutches that feel like stock but can hold well. I'm also looking at upgrading the turbo on my 951. I was reading about Tial turbos. It looks like the Garrett - GT3071R 700382-20 seems to be a sufficient turbo, but then again, I'm only going by their claims on their site http://www.tialsport.com/prod_tc_gt_30r.htm . I emailed Tial for more information. I'm also looking at the turbo kits that vitesse has. I'm curious to hear if you guys have any other opinions.
I'd appreciate any other info and experience you guys can provide.

Well one will have an effect on the other. What sort of hp/tq levels are you after? The type of clutch is very dependent on these numbers.

Well I'm looking for 450 at the rear wheels. I'm not sure which turbo will fit my needs. I saw on the website that the turbo i mentioned is capable of that horsepower level, but was unaware of any other specifics.

IMO that turbo is out of it's efficiency range at 450 hp especially using a 2 valve stock head.
If you plot the map you will see that at 2.5 PR (about 22psi) it is hovering around 68% efficiency.
Unless you have done soem major improvements to teh VE You will struggle to get that HP with that wheel.
IMo you would be better off with a 35R

^^What he said + are you just hoping to slap a new turbo on to your existing motor? How tight is the bottom end? If you go for a bolt on kit, the Vitesse stuff is the best out of a box, but you're not going to get 450whp on a 2.5L without doing some other pretty major mods. To get 450whp you are going to have to run much higher psi than John strongly recommends. If you don't get a 'kit' as such, what are you going to do re engine mgmt? There are so many things to consider when you're looking for over approx 350whp. Lots of info here in the SEARCH function. Hours of good clean family fun reading many past posts. Good luck.
