Come on, raise that price a little. I am going to sell mine in the near future and don't want to get peanuts for it, lol.

I agree with Chris here, sounds like it may not be 100% the headgasket. If the water-jacket failed in the turbo (if this is even possible) it could mix oil water in the intercooler area.

You said your oil wasnt frothy - and usually it would be and the oil and water wouldnt mix- making it obvious you had water in the oil. Since you were a quarter inch high on the stick, drain your oil into a clear container (you should drain your oil anyways since if there is water in it its now ruining your mains) and see if you can see the oil floating on the water.

I have a feeling there is a small chance the turbo might have failed and if you hurry and get the water out the engine might still be ok? One explanation for it possibly being the turbo that failed is that it leaks when cool, and when you step on the gas and spool it gets hot, expands, and reseals. You mentioned it smoked less under throttle...

[QUOTE=RKD in OKC;5178102]Blew a head gasket...I am done. Make me a serious offer and get this thing and all the associated stuff out of my garage. Lots of good parts, I am just tired of it.

Bummer man! Have you been having lots of problems with this engine? Good Luck with it! If it is the head gasket those aren't all that bad to do. offer up some beer and call a HG party on rennlist you'll have the car fixed in no time.

You shouldn't feel worried. I might not be the turbo in this case and IF it's the turbo's fault it could've happend to any turbo, there's nothing that would make the Lindsey turbo's more prone to this or other turbo related problems.

Just wanted to clarify that, in case anyone thought I was talking down on their turbochargers.

Just curious how a failing turbo can contribute to this? I just recently blew my headgasket, and on top of water being inside my cylinders, there was coolant/water in my intercooler pipes as well

Thanks, sorry for the thread hijack

Has nothing to do with the turbo, but other things. I ran a 61 for over 4 years @ 23psi and never had a blown head gasket.

What is so wrong about him selling his car to me? he got tired of the car, it happens, like a woman that cheats on you many times, ask special tool why he left his 1st wife, because he got tired of her cheating in his back.

After ST's post... the "most encouraging" in this whole thread, I realised he was working as your agent... you two are just working together to try and wear down our poor brother while he's in a distressed state - go to your room Lart, you should be ashamed of yourself!

RKD you've got to be kidding. It's always upsetting when things like this happen. But if I were you, I would listen to those on here that are telling you to take a step back and think about things. They're right. Take a week or something and think about it man, honestly. Think about what could possibly replace such an irreplaceable car, imho. But if you really feel that way, then you do what you have to.

Sorry, I really don't have anything against lart but you do know what will happen to your car right? Plus we all know he will only put those parts in his broken down 924.
