Nordschleife Master
Well no pictures of anything yet. But over my spring break (next month) i am going to be redoing the top end. There is a broken exhaust stud on the #2 runner and its taking forever to spool up. Decided to redo the entire top end rather than attempt drilling it out (Which probably would have ended with me pulling the head anyway).
What would have been an only $300 job or so, is turning into a little more than twice that with all of those 'while your in theres'. I am a big advocate of do it once and do it right. My list so far..
-LR stage 1 headwork, o-ringed and wide fire headgasket
-LR steam vent kit
-All new vacuum lines and replacing all vacuum hoses under the intake
-Deleting the cycling valve in favor of a manual boost controller. Also going to ditch the entire metal hard pipe setup.
-Aeroquip fuel lines
-While exhaust manifold is removed, i am going to have EGT bungs welded onto each runner for future plans.
-Install Iceshark's battery cables and headlight wiring harness
Either this weekend or next i am going to install a Tial 38mm dual port and give atmospheric dump a try. I also need to finish installing the wideband controller.
Im just building everything up to support my long term plans of a reliable 300whp at relatively mild boost which can survive track days. After the headgasket work gets sorted, ill be going with Vitesse's K26/6 AFM chip to ensure a good tune until i can afford the MAF setup. I dont plan on exceeding 15 psi really.
Its the biggest 'stage' i have planned for this car. A pretty large undertaking considering all this car is running with currently is a full 3'' exhaust, APE stage 2 chips and a LR boost enhancer.
After that..i need to address the suspension. Already has Koni's all around, but will be adding adjustable ride height sleeves in the front and dropping the rear using the camber eccentric trick. Basically the same setup i had on my old n/a (which i loved).

I could post for days here, but I'll wait just a little longer. Some real nice cars here guys. Gotta love the 914's they are unique for sure!
Hey Dan, just a little OT but where did you get your 924t nose cone vents? I waited months for a vented header panel that cost a small fortune and is pretty crap so I've a mind to just use the stock header and do something like you.
