Wouldn't you say that controlling the spark would give you more control of the engine, and further upgrades, turbo, different fuels ECT..? than just fuel control on these cars. It may be better if I did go with edis, according to the time slips, full control (spark and fuel) did give a better end result than did the fuel control. I was hoping to use the stock ecu only for the output for the Speedo, tack, and other gauges. Do your gauges such as, (Speedo, tack, heat, oil and temp) read accurately, and is the turbo water pump driven by the ms2. I am not convinced that I (have) to stay with the parallel setup, if there are more benefits to going full standalone ms2. Can you break down your setup for others to use as a guide?
Hope that I am not asking too many questions, but if your system works, maybe others like myself would be interested in parts of your setup, like the trigger sensor where to buy the sensor. Where to buy all of the setup needed like (DIYAutoTune.com, they don’t sell the trigger sensor). Maybe, where you bought the packs to run edis, things like that. Thank in advance
And again, sorry for all of the questions. I’ve studied lots of ms FAQ but still have a few.
Thanks for the maps I will use these as a base line when I get that far.
Again thanks

The 2nd map is a good one to start with.

- I run MS2 - Picked up from DIYautotune
- I picked up the trigger wheel from ebay - I believe it was an ring from an escort. I had it machined to my existing pulley and welded on. My hope is to have my brother inlaw machine a complete trigger pulley setup.
- I only run MS2. KLR and DME are long gone.
- All gauges work.
- Also made a custom harness that plugs into the engine bay plug. I use all the existing relays. Its plug and play. You can literally swap out the MS harness and replace the stock harness/dme/klr.
- The Ms2 sits on where the stock dme sits with the harness plugged in.
- One of the only things I changed from the stock setup is the ISV. I replaced the stock ISV with the GM idle stepper. It works with the ISV but the GM stepper is a much better setup. Nothing like having it warmup properly. Cold start 1200-1300 rpm and it warms up back down to idle. Much better than any other 944/951 I have owned.

90% of the info is on Pelican.

Thumbs up

Thank you for all of the replies, I will definitely use all of the info on this page to begin the standalone ms2 on my turbo. I think that removing the dme and klr is the best way to go.
If it wasn't for RPHARRIS and AlexE, and the people at DIYAutoTune.com, I would not have went the ms2 way. Thanks guys for all of your input, and I will keep things posted as the build goes. I am very close to placing my order with DIYAutoTune.com. A little more reading to find out all I need and then I'll order and start welding!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to start!
Again Thanks for all of the support here and the guys that make it possible!!!
