I always thought that this is the engine that should have gone in these cars in the first place. It would be more apropriate since the 944 is more of an audi/vw than a Porsche. The longer I own my 951 the less and less impressed I am with the bastardized half a 928 8v engine it has. In hind sight I wish I had spent my money replacing the stock engine with something else rather than trying to make it better.

How ever this guy is going about it the wrong way, he is destroying the one thing these cars actualy have going for them.

the 5 cylinder transaxle apparently bolts in to a 944 i would imagine the engine would make up to the torque tube .
I kinde of wounder about an Audi v8 they cost less than a 968 motor

I agree, the transaxle is a nice feature. It should be interesting to see how the Audi engine affects the weight balance of the car, and also how it performs vs the 944 and 968 turbos.

He has it put in their oddly, but its his money his car and I think he's doing a decent job for the amount of time he has in it. If any engine is appropriate to bastardize into the 944 this Audi motor is one of them.

IIRC Audisport was getting over 700BHP in the 1980's with the same motor this guy is using.

yeh but that is weak as the toyota V8 got heaps of street cred as the "lexus V8" for years as it was the first decent affordable.
alloy quad cam v8

I think an isuzue truck motor would be the ultimate insult
