Turned the key on the 3 Liter...
And... It runs!!!!:jumper::jumper:
I started with no plugs to build pressure. New oil pump and OPRV did their jobs -- had pressure after 10 seconds or so. At first it was rough due to a big vacuum leak, but after fixing that it seemed to idle nice and smooth with no odd sounds, leaks, etc. I rushed a bit yesterday shooting for a 2007 start-up, but was able to find the leak without too much pain. The Vitesse software came with a 3L map, and it is providing a nice 14.7:1 idle at 860 -- just like nothing's changed! The real test will come after i get the suspension back on, and start breaking in and driving, but just hearing it run smoothly was music to my ears. More to follow. :jumper: |

Good work Tom. I know how long you have been waiting for this. Now you can say "Oh, that engine, I finished it last year"

I wish my underside was that clean...
Good job though. Can't wait to see the final pics! I hope to turn the key on S2 tomorrow! |
That is one hell of a feeling, congrats! I cut my Pcar teeth on my Turbo motor.
