Not even if I was Cheech or Chong and it was the only bong left in existance would I use that implement!
Also I can't see how vwvortex could possibly get those hp figures with that psi. World record I'm calling!

Guys, this posting has definitely open a proverbial can of worms (awesome).
Russell at 951 MAX has given me a shortlist of things to check. As Patrick (333pg333) said, it is not that far off, and it does feel reasonable, but when I go for rides in other 951's with similar mods, mine is very unresponsive, and slow on spoolup, compared to there's.
BTW, I am using 98 octane fuel, here in Australia it is about the best we have, I have heard it is not as good as the US stuff though.

Our 98 is RON... for pump gas in the US, they average RON and MON, 98 RON is around 92 - 93 US pump gas.

As for your problem, a guy on another board had a similar problem... late spool and lacking ultimate power... spend several weeks and many hour of worshop time diagnosing... to no avail. Tried a stiffer spring in the bypass vavle and it made things worse... that should have given it away... but it didn't... took the turbo out, though that was the problem but it wasn't... the bypass valve was installed the wrong way around!

Could a restriction in the exhaust cause this problem as well?
