Ask Mark Anderson, his is got all the stuff you are talking about.
From what I understand it is a hard car to catch up to.

PS, I like all of the P-cars, well maybe not the Cayenne, but I do not like any of the SUV's.

The 951 guys that don't respect 928s are no better. Both are awesome cars. I like the 951 better but that is not to say that I dislike the 928, far from it. I have only been in one and it was very impressive.
Some of us own both

The 89' 928 I built with 660 crank hp (550rwhp with an auto) is a daily driver and has been for two years. The only non-stock engine component are the head gaskets, it uses the stock computers and runs 12.5psi on a Vortech V7Ysi. Any 951 owners able to compare with stock crank, rods and pistons let alone block and head and even exhaust? Ok, it does have one of my crossovers but the headers and cat back are all stock. The car did finally have a failure, it split the rubber boot between the MAF and the throttle body. Wah. The A/C works perfectly and it drives just like a stock S4 until you close the BOV. Yes it weighs 3600# but if it didn't it wouldn't be driveable. It runs 295 rears and has no traction in lower gears even with the weight. Any 951 owners want to come to SLC and compare? We can make your car faster too but not as easily as a 928.

I do so enjoy these "discussions" as my business partner is a 951 guru and I prefer 928's but I am the one that has built the fastest cars to come out of our shop...

Your car isnt nessary stock as it has a supercharger (mod). Yes you have stock parts but so does everybody else. Nice numbers by the way. Is your tranny worked? bigger torque converter? I wish i can take you up on your offer but my car is no way near as fast as yours so you win.

Hey ST, I would love to but I prefer to do ORR and Nevada is so close, there is nothing like excessive speed for long distances. One mile is fun but 100-130 miles is a lot more fun! BTW, Garrity Repta is my business partner. He can do some staggering things with 951's and I am always tripping over those damn 3.0L blocks with knife-edged cranks and 2.7L heads laying around.

Reno, the auto trans is bone stock with 80k miles. I have an external cooler on it and run Redline D4. We did upgrade it with a reworked LSD (70%) but that didn't seem to help much, just doubled the smoke output.

The funny thing is that Lart drops a little worm and it gets a bite within minutes. So the more the 928 guys bite, guess what?? Good place to keep coming back to fish I reckon.
Just for the record, you guys call your cars 'Land-Sharks' I believe. Well there are a few Barracudas out there that just might snap at your tailfins and scoot on by. Some are in existence like ST's and DFASTESTS plus some others that we know about, and some are being built now. So if you hear that music from JAWS it may not be from you, it may be FOR you. hehehehehehehehehe

Hey Lorax, you want entertainment? Come by and see the 10k mile 86 Turbo we have in the shop at the moment...beautiful! It only had 9k when we first saw it.

333, be careful...your block/crank may have come from us and we do the same nasty things to 928's. The way things are moving you might want to listen carefully to that 928 that you think you are about to blow off the road. There is a 585rwhp N/A 928 running around Oregon...who needs boost? 928's are starting to be handed off from doctor's wives to guys that actually want to go fast and the improvements are happening hard and fast. They are a fantastic platform to start with, something 951 owners have known for a long time.

I guess muscle weighs more than fat (:

Well neither the block or the crank will be coming from your shop or your car, but thanks for the heads up. 585whp n/a is very impressive. I guess since you have twice the pistons and capacity (approx) we should be allowed a little hairdryer to try and keep up to you big naughty boys. To your knowledge, what is the biggest hp and tq output on a 928 based engine? Just curious to see what we have to make half of, oh what the heck, lets see if we can make the same on our little wind up i4's. Now that will be a challenge, and how embarrassment for you if we succeed!!! (that's a Nordic term, not, just in case someone may try and pull me up for misuse of the word)
Oh, and just for the record, unfortunately I'm one of those poor saps that actually quite likes the 928 too. I think I may need a shrink.

C'mon rixter. If those guys had any money do you really think they'd be driving a 944/951?
