Default Silver Rose

Hi Guys,

I know these posts are normally a pain to respond to but really need your thoughts

Got offered a Silver Rose in apparently great condition. It has been used as a track car and comes with a new engine and transmission under warrenty (old one blew) fabspeed muffler and cat bypass, 280bhp chip, a short pinion, cage race seats (originals supplied) and harnesses and 3 sets of wheels with new tires. Always been professionally maintained

I clealry know it has been tracked and reason for new engine as last one blew (comes with warrenty from a well known porsche / race garage) and although I have yet to see it I have been assured it is in A1 cndition and could be turned back to standard by replacing original seats which are perfect and removing cage

Been offered the lot for 14k, is this about right?

IMHO, that's a lot for a car that's been tracked. But then again I dont like buying anything that has so much as an aftermarket muffler on it. I want to be the one to mod my cars, not someone else. That way I know exactly whats in it, and who did it. The only way I'd pay that for a 944, it's under 50k miles and mint interior, bone stock, LSD, Sport seats.

But I'm picky. LOL.

you better get the engine warranty in writing and hope they honor it if necessary.

$14k for one in superb condition is one thing but a race dog you don't know much about is something i'd stay away from.

Seems to me like people tend to ask more for track cars than street cars, but if it doesn't have any high dollar mods then it might not make it worth that. Whats the suspension like?

Get the warranty in writing, and try to get him down to ~12 at the most. The extra wheels and stuff is a plus, but it's still been abused.
