Default FS: 1986 944 Turbo Track Car

UPDATE

-I recently replaced the cylinder head with one I purchased from Fifth Gear Performance in Lewisville Texas. It has larger valves and all the proper machining. In addition I replaced all the necessary gaskets, the head gasket is now a wide fire gasket(supposed to be better to boost)

-Installed updated headers(87+, with 60k miles on them) because the old ones were bad

-I also replaced the timing belt

-I removed the Cycling valve, but did not install a mbc(didnt have time) so right now it runs a whopping 0.2 bar of boost. This of course can be fixed by installing a mbc(which takes about 5 min).

-I found the title, so you can have that too

-The car is still for sale and I am more than happy to accept offers below my asking price(just no lowballing).

I currently have my 944 track car sitting in Dallas at my parents house since I work in Germany now. It really doesn't make financial sense for me to ship it to Germany so I've decided to sell it. In addition to the modifications listed below I do have a couple service receipts for many things such as oil pan gasket, water pump and other general service, I also recently replace the cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs. I would list all the service items performed however the receipts are in Dallas. Below is the list of modifications I did over the course of a year while studying at the University of Rochester. I did a PCA DE event at Watkins Glen with the car and it was a great car, my instructor described it as a "monster".

If you have any questions feel free to email me at:

phillip.schuepbach@ruf-autombile.de

-Bilstein Escort cup suspension (height adjustable coilovers)
o450 lb/in front springs
o550 lb/in rear springs
-Autothority DME and KLR
-Turboback exhaust w/o cat
-Kirkey Racing Seats
-Simpson 5 point harness
-ProCar custom rollcage conforms to PCA and SCCA standards(may need modification for group specific), mostly chromoly with some steel pieces to offset driver weight
-Lindsey Racing Camber Plates
-Pagid Orange Racing pads
-Stripped Interior
-Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires(used once at a PCA DE event)
-Dyno’d 242 hp and a little over 300 lb-ft at the wheels
-Most vacuum hoses replaced(not all)
-Power Steering removed(currently using power steering rack which is converted to a manual rack, however needs new seals)
-Torsion Bars removed
-Passenger front control arm/ball joint replaced
-Cam housing gasket replaced
-Injectors replaced (3 were flow matched, the fourth was purchased new)
-Problems
oECU occasionally goes into Overboost mode, cycling valve is probably the culprit and can be removed
oWindshield and back window have many surface scratches, can probably be polished out using glass polisher, or be replaced with Lexan
oElectrical short/bad ground causing the gauges to die when the brake is applied, Mechanic thinks it’s a bad ground
oOil pan drain plug seal needs to be replaced as it drips ever so slightly
oBody has scratches and what not, this car was built as a track car and not a show car
-Only model year not to have ABS
-The car is not streetable, it is not registered, I purchased it with the sole purpose of making it a track car
-On the track the car performs very well, it does however need some fine tuning on the suspension because it slightly understeers(an alignment is highly recommended)
-Asking Price $10,500.00

Ah what the heck. Right foot = traction control anyway.
Price seems a fraction high but there's some nice bits there and the work looks ok.

that price isnt' bad at all considering what it costs to prep it...you get much lower than that and i'll consider buying it as a back up car...

oh and if anyone does buy it...rip that autothority chip out and replace with Max951...you run way to lean on the high end of that chip...plus the Max chip is so much more responsive...nice car man

hmm maybe it doesnt have the autothority chip, the car came to me chipped and with exhaust(i actually forgot to put that in the mod list), however when we dyno'd the car it runs nice and rich and I always thought the autothority chip was known for running rich. Anyway its chipped nonetheless
