Default Wierd clicking.

I noticed the other day that there was some strange clicking noises coming from what appeared to be the outside of my car the other day, so i drove on and ignored it. However, it seems that the clicking is coming from my car. To me, it sounds like its coming form the passenger side of the car. It wont do it when the clutch is in. However, it seems to be related to vehicle speed, and doesn't do it all the time, just most of the time. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Mine did that once and it was some coupler connected to the torsion bar i think or transmission somewhere. My mecanic found it and tightened it back. I can look for the records later to let you know for sure what it was.

If it's on boost it could be the solenoid of your boost controller cutting in.

+1 on the CV joints... especially if you still have it when you decelerate but don't have the clutch in...
see "strong vibration under heavy throttle" https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ibration+heavy
that is the thread where I had a strong vibration and the occasional clicking... finally the CV went clicky all the time....

Thanks everyone, its not just under boost, its whenever i start moving it sounds worst (loudest clicking) then just speeds up as speed of the car increases. So, I'm going to check the CV joints and half shafts Thursday. Thanks again.

If its coming from the front passenger side of the car it is the cruise control servo. This happen to me when mine went bad. It would click while moving unless I put the clutch in. I just unplugged it since I don't use it anyway.

Check the simplest thing first - look for a screw in one of your tires. As the tire rotates the head clicks when it hits the pavement - more common than you think.

My inner CV's were in much worse shape than my outers... I don't know why but that is what I found.
The grease was still grease in the outers but tar in the inners....
just my experience...

Ok new news. I got under the car to just poke around and wiggled the half shafts, after that the clicking has yet to be heard. Any new ideas or still CV's?

Or.. $60 each with core from O'reilys if you've got one near you. One year warranty. Worth it for even me to not have to pack that gook in there.
