333 - sounds great man!
So you've run in the 3 liter MID setup at the track?

I think I'm just running it in every time I put the key in the ignition. I just keep going for long and fast drives. It feels really strong everywhere. The combo of the turbo, MIDS, S2 gearing, LSD really works well. There has been a bit of tweaking with some of the components but now they seem to be working together. Don't forget we have the racehead, cam, and big front mount i/c yet to come. Plus some custom headers too.
Apparently she's blowing nice big flames too. Must get a photo.

We're looking forward to your visit Patrick and hope to show you some good old fashioned British hospitality at the Ace Cafe if we can sort out the dates and your itinerary.

I can't wait to hear more about your car now that it's up and running, but I can't promise that we can get any UK big capacity cars out to meet you (my own is not due back from the paintshop until next week).

Maybe Nick_968 could be tempted out with his 3.0L 968 Turbo

Not trying to highjack but just had a question for you guys. I am getting ready to go standalone on my 2.8l street car. My dyno guy is now a Haltech dealer and of course recommened getting it for my setup. Is this a respectable system to go with?? Thanks for any help.

My small experience led me to stay away. They seem dated. It works. But much tougher to get a car running smoothly.

Patrick,

Glad to hear you are driving your car! My motor should be done next week and I should be driving the car again in September. Where do think that the max tq comes on on the RPM dial?

Keep us posted on dyno's and such.

Paul, it will be great to catch up with you guys in the UK if I can make it to that meet. I hope so!

Brett, I had my crank sent to Lindsey for Medium lightening and the one I got back was almost fully knifed. I guess there were concerns that we'd lose a bit of tq combined with the lightened fly, but no probs at all, and doesn't it like to rev some!!

I have no experience with the Haltech, sorry.

George, yes it's a ton of fun. I can't say where the tq officially comes in but I can say that it's virtually get on the gas and go. Very little lag, and I am in a higher gear almost always now, but that is very much about the S2 cw&p too. I can't speak more highly of that combination. As I said, unless you do a lot of high speed long drives then lowering the stock 951 gearing transforms the car. Well worth considering. It's great on the track too as with the old 'box I would find myself in the wrong gear quite often.
