with it mounted a little lower you can mount an rx7 oil cooler in place of the stock intercooler.keep us updated!

Remember Texas is a damn site hotter than Norway. I shouldn't think Anders will have cooling problems

I like the oil coolers, how will you route the brake cooling?

Well, something else to keep in mind...
On paper, it seems that the A/C condenser will block airflow to the radiator... Which it does.

But cars dont overheat with the condenser installed. Older Volvos pioneered installing a radiator-like intercooler, A/C condenser, and radiator without overheating.

So in this case, I think becasue of the fact that his 951 does not have an A/C condenser, it will not overheat. If it does overheat slightly...

I would leave both fans running through a resistor (low speed) full time. I would make a high speed switch for when the car approaches 150-170 degrees F.

Hopefully running the fans at a low speed with the car idling doesnt overwhelm the alternator and start draining the battery.

remember flow thru a radiator, oil cooler and whatnot is way different from a IC which restricts very little. I'm not very worried about water temp. I've had quite a few cars before and yes I know the importance of good cooling.. "last" car overheated even with a 19row cooler on oil! and servo also overheated (british built...)

as for too big.. nah I'm tired of heat soaking up bergwerk.

I got an engineering buddy to calculate airspeed and such, will see if he can write something down for me, he just did it in his head and said as long as I had speed it was all good.

to duke.. this should answer your brake cooling question 968 style "scoops" only part 1 is mounted in pic, I can take one with air scoop from ground mounted as well.

rotors, calipers and everything will be changed, but for now while I wait for my monoblocks I just wanna drive..

Hey Anders,

I am running that same intercooler. It does bring the air temps down.......but the engine temps will go up if you run in 90-100F weather. When I ran events under 90F I did not see any difference in oil or coolant temps..

When I ran an event at 90-100, I had coolant and oil heating issues. The oil temps went past 240F for the first time up to 270F and the coolant temps were on the upper side of the second coolant line. Borderline the red mark.

I need to install an external oil cooler like the one you have as well and a 968TurboS exit vent to improve the air flow...

P.S. If you are running over 300rwhp. This intercooler is a great investment. It lowered intake air temps and less pressure loss. Cured a heatsoaked IAT as well. This intercooler is properly sized. The engine cooling issues are valid if you run in typically 90+F .

cool alexe, how did you install it?
if you have an old stock cooler try to blow throught it.. mine was 100% clogged had to blow from both siden numerous times to even get air through.

we rarely see 90 here, heck, but at the ring it has been as much as 105 degrees at times, but again very rare.

Hey 95ONE, can you post some pics of your car and it's setup. Looks different in your avatar but it's a little small to see.
TIA

now do you have the condenser on your car or is that removed? Also what radiator are you running?

Is the overall size of the intercooler 24x12x3.5? or is that just the core size?
