I wish some of them would try it. There has been a little 83 rx7 with an LS swap in it up there the last few times and he runs 13.0 at 108-110. On drag radials and I guarantee he is at least 400 pounds lighter too.

That's a great result Sid! Especially at that altitude.
Odd that that RX7 / LS is so slow?

Patrick, that's not really slow. A mildly modded Camaro usually runs high 13s at 100. The only faster la based cars up here are at minimum zo6 vettes, zl1 camaros, ctsv caddys. They are all supercharged. Matter of fact, one of my runs last night I races a well modes 98 Vette and I gave him a head start and blew by him like he was standing still at half track. He ran a 12.2 at 113.

Those engines don't make all the power as seems to be thought on here unless heavily modded or are forced induction.

Great results 130 mph is a lot!
Really makes me want to get my car to the strip and test it. There's an event in October 3 hours away from me... maybe it's worth the hassle with the trailer and make the trip there to try it out

What gearbox are you running?
DO you think gearing would make enough of a difference (S vs S2 vs 951 boxes) at your power level to get the car off the line quicker and down the track?
Sometimes I toy with the idea of swapping in the 931 snailshell gearbox with its indestructible reputation and its about 30lbs lighter than the 944 trans. Gearing is a little shorter in all gears than the 951 as well.

S2 trans gearing is way to short. I'd be in 5th at the trap speeds I'm running. I thunk the g31 gearing is perfect as the 4th gear final drive is just short of the turbo box.

We shall see. I'll probably start off with a cryo treated 951 box with a g31 swap sitting there ready to go if needed. I have all winter to decide.

Do they ever dust off the tracks in the cold season?
Can't imagine what kind of times you'd rip off with 40* IAT.

Yes that would be interesting! We might try it later this year and it's at Eastern Creek too so not far away. Be interesting to try with and without the wings?

I would update the list SID, but I am no longer a member and don't have an editing option. EDIT: It lets me edit posts from today, but not the first one here.

Fantastic numbers.

No. I haven't touched the project in about 2 years. I've been fighting with all my heart, tooth and nail, to not sell it off.

Bruce, I'm really glad to see you post. I wish we could have met up when I went down to see the tx2k. I went 11.10 at 132 so far but it's not backed up yet. Should be some great improvements for next year.

Give a call if you still have the number, I'd love to catch up.
