to delete it, you block the path, or block the IC section and the intake section and the hose is gone.

Cheers - I will look at removing it totally at the weekend - studied the various diagrams and think there is a line missing on my car as well which probably isn't helping.

So it looked to me like LR was producing a version of the check valve hose, that goes from the end of the fat metal tube to the top of the AOS.

However, the hose connector on my 86 was a short elbow, and the LR piece I bought is a solid 3 inches long. The LR piece looks the same as the later model year car hoses shown here.

Did anyone cut the metal tube to get this to fit? Are my metal pipes longer on an 86 than the later model year cars?

More background on my build https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...ld-thread.html

Trim the silicone not the metal. Later models of that fitting would have a third port on the side for a little little valve that vents excess pressure.

So there is a maximum amount I can trim the silicon, considering the placement of the relief valve, and the resulting maximally trimmed piece seems 1-2 in longer than stock - see #3 vs. #4 here. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/AOSHOSES.html

Do you have that small valve? AFAIK it wasn't on the early cars. I wasn't aware of a difference between early and late metal pipes, but I guess that makes sense having seen the two pieces of silicone. I have that metal piece in one of my parts piles (late version) if you would like to purchase it to avoid trimming. Otherwise it looks like you could cut right behind where that valve fitting is and it would wind up the same length as the early piece. You can add the little valve to your early car and it won't hurt anything, it was added to vent excess pressure from when the diverter valve dumps after drop throttle.

My car did not come with the small valve (just the straight elbow), but per the guidance on page 1, I bought the later piece to install when I do the venturi delete. Will offer it up to the car to see how far off it is.

Could you measure the length of the fat metal tube if you get a chance? I'm curious if it is different between the early and late. If mine doesn't fit, will be interested in a purchase.

It's just shy of 14" as measured in the picture:

It would appear they're different, see attached. The late metal hose has shorter small diameter pipes at the back (near the firewall), and seems that the early model was longer - est. 15inches for the fat pipe. Note in the picture that I didn't measure from the end of the metal pipe, but to the edge of the rubber.

Looked up the 79 Honda accord bypass hose for use in replacing the hose from the end of the fat metal tree tube to the Jboot, for reference it is Gates 21221, NAPA 7932, and Dayco B70944 .

OK, I'm confused, re part 951 110 217 01. The picture shows it as a big long hose that goes from the drivers side of the icv to the hard pipe. When I bought it, it showed up as the short hose that goes from the ICV to the manifold directly above it. Pelican's picture is consistent with it being small, but their description is inconsistent ("to intake boot"). https://importecautoparts.com/parts/...0%20217%2001/3

I think it is supposed to be 951 110 221 00

Great thread, it's really helped me to understand just what's going on with all these hoses.

But I have a question about a part which hasn't been mentioned in this thread. What does the air tube 951 110 225 01 do? It's a small air tube on later cars which is on the air hose which comes from the AOS through the big metal tube and is then attached to the J boot. I can't tell if it's just a connector or if it vents to atmosphere with a Y.

Number 5 in this pic:

If i recall that is just a barbed plastic fitting that connects the rubber hose from the AOS to the j-boot.

Thank you, so it's just a tube and no reason to have to update an earlier car with this part? I can't even find a picture of it online, just drawings, and just want to be sure I'm not leaving some important valve, venturi, or magic German tube out of the equation....

IIRC - item #5 is NLA...so, hopefully the absence of the part in the system doesn't make a difference.
