Well guys you've all watched me go from a single DoD contractor to a guy with an Army girlfriend, to getting married etc.

Today, May 12th is my 1 year anniversary and I couldn't be happier! She's been my rock, my love, my hope. We've spent maybe 5 months together of that year over here, the rest of the time she has been either stateside or in Iraq. She's a shining example of what any woman should aspire to be...I simply adore her.

She's my one and only, my dream and my only desire...marriage is a beautiful thing. She knows me inside out already! We've been VERY fortunate in life thus far, we now own the home we got married in, and she's incredibly understanding and supportive of the GTR project - she lurks here from time to time laughing at a lot of everyone's comments etc - so I figured I'd let everyone know how special today is for us and wish everyone the best day ever!

Congrats! I sit here reading this with my 3 year old climbing on my back and my 7 month old banging on the table. That's what's next!

We want to have kids asap, but after we've finished what we came over to the middle east to do - 6 more years and its KIDDIE TIME! But I envy you.

But right now we're still both kids...she's 22 and i'm 24 I want to be a stay at home dad so the financial aspect is important to us, plus we have some traveling to do before I get her pregnant.

Marriage is a rollercoaster with many ups and down and as long as you stick it out you will be one of the few that will be able to look back and appreciate the ride of your life.

There is nothing more precious in life than the love of your own family.

Congrats mate, good on you and your fine lady wife.
Don't ever take for granted what you have and life wil be good. I have been married now 17 years
and some times are harder than others. Keep memories of what makes it special and never go to bed without resolving a disagreement and you will be fine mate!

Department of Defense Contractor...I get to play in the sand box with all the bad children until they are no more Plus I get to support not only the finest American Armed Forces but the British as well, they're having a rough time in Southern Afghanistan.

Alex & Reno: Thanks guys, its the little stuff that makes the big differences in a marriage, I'm learning and I can honestly say its been really fun. Don't worry Reno, when I'm about to have little Guns running around I'll def. post pics just like I have on the GTR project although the wife may be slightly upset of 10,000 people monitoring her "progress"

What a coincidence: my anniversary is today, May 12th, as well. 6 years. We're planning on going to go up to the hill where we were married and having a picnic dinner with our 2 children.

Thanks everyone! I just found out last night I got my orders to be transferred to Baghdad. Normally that would be a bad thing but since that's where my wife is its all I can think about! Next year we can be together for our anniversary!
