OT - 1000 rwhp thread, useless japanese car info and cool doom car stuff

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in my 1000rwhp engine build. I will post pictures and show you the different machining techniques and parts it takes to pull it off.

It has already started but I am busy and it may take 2-3 months to complete and tune. I will have a video of the engine dyno pull and then once the car is ready, I will video the chassis dyno pull too.

I might even open the shop to people who want to attend the dyno runs. I might fall flat on my face but, I want to put it out there as it might be a great learning experience for some.

Yes, 1000! It will be a 968 based block, 16 valve S2 head, O -ringed, deck plate, dowled girdle, Dry sump, external water pump, ITB intake, belt drive twin cam setup, full Link EMS and a huge Garrett ball bearing turbo.

First, it will be built and dyno'ed. I'm not sure how streetable it will be but I will try. In reality, thats not my main concern.

Stay tuned... :burnout:

evil 944t 05-08-2007 12:36 AM

Thats what I'm thinking.. It can be done.

sharky47 05-08-2007 12:36 AM

You need some of my bolts to hold that 16v cam cover down..........that 1000hp is liable to blow it off!

Keep us posted, that is going to be one serious engine!

evil 944t 05-08-2007 12:37 AM

Sharky, I do like those bolts.. I might take you up on that.

:corn: I will stay tuned in

no doubt will be a lot learned and spent in the endeaver

LOL - anybody interested - uhhhhh yeah!

I cant wait to see this. Youll be in the same league as supras

Geneqco 05-08-2007 12:47 AM

Great stuff. You're using the S2 head because you don't like the Variocam in the 968???

Please tell us something about Variocam - it's pros and cons - and the reason for your decision.

Thanks

The short block is in the works, I just need rods and to add cylinder O-rings.

Then, I will start on the head. It should be spinning around + - 10k rpms so Solid lifters are in order. Also, massive port work and 16 larger valves.

You go Dave!!!

A big  and good luck.

Out of curiosity, are you doing this on your own or are you working with a tuner like Scott Gomes?

Regards,

I'll ask you not to use the S word around me please, lol..

Geneqco, I'm using the S2 head because I have a couple kicking around. The 968 head would work too. Both need so much porting that it actually doesn't matter which one I start with.

For a street car, I would use the 968 head and the vario cam. It works fine.

This build will have an external adjustable belt system between each cam. There will be 2 adjustable pullies on the nose of exhaust cam and a fixed pulley on the intake cam. That way you can time them. These of course will be custom cams.

Regards,

Sh944,

I'm not working with Scott Gomes and no I did not buy that Doom intake, lol.

Some of the parts will be machined for me and I will machine the rest. The electronics, turbo and some internals will be sourced items.

ps - Is Scott doing the same thing? Let me know, I'll shoot for a different goal, lol.

what all are you planning on doing to enable the motor to spin to 10k rpm?
