"Final" ad for pristine '87....
Hey guys,
I'm single-handedly trying to raise the market for these cars....

Finally did a "proper" ad.

I bet it already would have sold for your asking price if it wasn't for the aftermarket items.
The type of person looking for a time-capsule 951 (the type of person that will drop $20k +) doesn't want a hatch carpet that has been chopped up to put extra speakers in, or carpet/panels pulled up to run stereo wires. They want it exactly the way it sat on the showroom floor.
Otherwise it is a fine example. One of the niceset I have seen.

While I agree with Ted's opinion on keeping it stock, anyone who seriously wants the car will know that its only a couple hundred dollars for a replacement piece of carpet which is pretty trivial and could be included in any negotiation. This is just my opinion but I think the wheels are too gaudy for such a pristine stock car. I've seen that car and it really does look new. Good luck Stephen!

I hope you're right! And I think you are. I've had serious interest in the car in the past and the non-OEM issues haven't been a roadblock or deal-breaker. I don't want to spend more $$/time in getting it back to pure OEM. If I were to keep it, I might.
RE the BBS wheels: they wouldn't be my personal preference either, although I do think this particular color combo is one of the better ones for them. BTW, I've talked to the BBS America center and they still service these wheels. So they *could* be disassembled and refinished in a color other than gold. BBS charges $75/wheel to reassemble and seal them properly. If I were to keep the car, I'd probably put 17" cups w/painted crests on it.

Stephen. I visited the web site, saw the pics, and read all about the car. That said, you're price is definately on the money for this market condition. The car is in pristine shape and the color is beautiful too! As others said and I will echo, the carpet thing is minor but that might be frowned upon by a prospective buyer. But moreso, and this is no offense to you at all, those BBS rims from the 1980s kill me! Sorry, had to say it. If you had any other rims, either Cup or a nice set of Fikse FM-5s, that car would be even more stunning. Anyway, no offense meant my friend. Best wishes with selling the car. You have a very rare example there. I can relate to yours, because I've been there and done that.
Good luck.
Good luck.

it was there just not in the pic, look closely and you see the marks keep going, 160... the 170 mark and then the pic cuts off so the 180 mark should be right below. All speedos after 1986 were 180

A set of the old 16" 993 wheels would do wonders for that car

If my big reds would anywhere close to fit under them I would still have a set of them on my car for the street.

Even though I love my car it makes me sad mine has so many miles on it. A real piece of art there hope you get what you want for it
