You make it sound like it happens all the time?? I hadn't ever heard that the stock crank was an achilles heel though?

I have seen plenty of cracked cranks. More 2.5ltr cranks in 2.5ltr blocks then 3ltr cranks in 3ltr blocks.

Why do you take it so personal? Really? I am having the crank redesigned (and so is evil944t) wheather anyone likes it or not. Why do you care so much? You own stock in Porsche or something?

Or you just trying to live up to your sig?

Like I said before, I respect your opinion, I just don't agree with it. I am sure you are not the only one who feels that way.

But there are plenty of people who have had rod bearing failures destroy very expensive short blocks and are interested in the possibility of a solution to protect their investment. There is nothing wrong with that.

Oh dear Dr F. Fishey is at it again.
This guy does not or to my knowledge has never owned a Turbo, is the highest authority on 944's. Feels good about slagging everybody elses ideas off without any substance. Even makes himself the self styled "Rennlist E-Thug"
He feels that he can rubbish Chris White & Chris Prack's ideas but only comes out with knee jerk reactions like "its a waste of money"
Fishey, what is your purpose on the Turbo forum? You obviously cannot learn anything YOU KNOW IT ALL!
Why don't you go back to the NA forums and spread your gospels there

I haven't heard of any failures to cranks before. Everytime it's a rod out the block, nothing more. Please enlighten me here. My only guess is it's with all the track guys that keep to themselves. Those silly goosesss.

Chris - I'm not so sure you can pin point the rod bearing failures to 100% the placement of the oil feed. There's been a lot of discussion on that point and there are quite a few opinions. As well as half assed tests. As much as I agree with that being the cause, how are you so sure?

So many experts, you got to love it, we are so lucky to have them all..

Chris Prack, keep in the loop, I'm interested in the crank you are developing as we discussed at the PRI. Chris White, give me a call, let's see if we can get a few cranks made at a decent price.
