Default Stock muffler limitation?

At what power level does the stock cat back become a limitation?

Thanks

That's a good question I've been wondering about myself. I last made 355rwhp with the stock muffler running through a bursch test pipe. I now have a 3 inch test pipe and better tuning (VR vs. Huntley) and will be retesting soon. I'm guessing there are a few HP left on the table due to that muffler, but it's already loud enough for me...

Depends on the condition mostly, these systems are 20 years old, so if its clogged or compromised internally it will retard performance.

I was wondering this too as I just bought the B&B 2.5 cat back system.

it has to be one of the most restrictive things on the car. the bends, kinks, and flat spots, in the exhaust are terrible. not to mention the 3 foot long cat.
