I think guns 951 project is the project to beat right now simply because he isint just building a monster motor he is redoing the entire car and going over everything.
Guns don't be modest you know this is true. I mean carbon mirrors, chis white 3.0ltr with ITB's,vitesse, widebody, lexan, digital dash, alacantra interior,GT racing body pieces all around 13inch wide rubber in the rear.
You're project is going way waaaaay past anythin i've seen done on rennlist in a long time.

Its getting alot done to her, but as I keep saying its going to be like the factory race cars...they're no where near as pretty as the production models but you know everything has been modified.
Trust me, Rolex's car is getting the same treatment, you just won't be able to tell! And all these projects going on aren't competing, its the maturity of the community at large. I think there are more 951 projects going on right now than ever before!

And I wasn't making light of rolex's car. I have no doubt its going to be insane. He knows I got nothing but, repsect for it. I was just pointing out you are going through the entire car and not many people do that.
Tis the season gents......tis the season.

Lart: August 5th bro haha, the finish of the race is in LA on the 4th. If we can get some kind of GTG going for the 5th I'm down
Porshhhh951: Yeah I guess there aren't that many that go through everything. Trust me I have no delusions about what I'm doing, but its hard to think about what the finished product will be like since the project has been going on for soooo long. When I see it for the first time I might even shed a tear.
I'm sure Mike has dreams about bolts n' nuts n' ratchets etc.

About the dash –
It is made by race technologies in England. It does not do datalogging but it has a direct interface with their datalogging units. There is something to be said for have the two functions separate. The price of the dash and the DL-1 datalogging unit are about the same as the AIM unit.
The Race technologies dash has all the stuff you need to use it on the street – see the various icons on the bottom row. It was a race only idea originally but enough people requested the street functionality that they added it.
The warning lights are fully programmable as well as almost all parameters of the display.

Race Technologies makes very nice stuff. I've used their DL90 and DL1 dataloggers which use both GPS and accelerometers to log speed, track layout, lat and long g's, etc. Software is very easy to use as well. I didn't realize their display was so reasonable priced - makes me consider selling the Stack and going with this.

Rob: No updates for today I may have another pic of the 1/4s coming to display the width of them, but the car isn't due back from the blasting shop until probably Tuesdays of next week. The media guy has been really backed up.

Okay, well more pics of the rear flares will be going up tomorrow when I get them from Lynn (just talked to him via email) and just some FYI the door panels will be going up to Robert with The 928 Leather Shop to get redone in black alcantara fabric. So pics of those will be up within the month I'm sure.
