I'm assuming it's this... (Pardon the text graphics)
Hotside Cold side
______ ____

|__|__| |__|
Basically, the hotside is split into to parts, on the same shaft, but with 2 separate exhaust paths to turn 2 turbines on one shaft, to turn one compressor wheel?

Exact same question. Pictures in that thread too!

Lol, good question, but I agree with Porschefile:
"Running a "twin" small crossover setup would be too much of a hassle IMO, and ultimately probably wouldn't accomplish much."

Race Car
Just curious, but with so many people trying crazy turbo options and such, why hasn't somebody built a new exhaust manifold, and put a twin scroll unit on the P/S of the car?
I have seen a couple attempts to replicate the callaway setup (turbo mounted on the P/S), and I am confused on why nobody has attempted to include this type of turbocharger.
Is there something really obvious I am missing?
Given all the expenses people go through, I find it hard to believe that the big hang-up is the cost of custom headers to fit the turbo.

not alot of room for a turbo on the PS- the calloway setup was very - slapped together- basically and i dont even think there was an intercooler. I have seen an updated one w/ turbo intake and intercooler, but the lines are real long.

The new Solstice and Sky also will have the dual scroll turbo. And with direct injection. Both getting about 260hp.

Zero10, I think the main issue with a p/s mounted turbo setup is the fact that you have to change literally everything including the exhaust, oil/coolant lines, IC pipes, headers, etc. I guess it theoretically wouldn't be that difficult or expensive for someone with some fabrication skills. It would be nice to see more setups like that around here though. It would sure simplify the heck out of the engine bay, and it should save a decent amount of weight by eliminating stuff like the crossover. Simplification would be the main attraction to me as it would be nice to be able to quickly change out the turbo compared to the stock location.

maybe instead of a custom turbo place we should try turbos that no one here has tried like some DSM guys are trying holset turbos off diesel trucks and some of them were saying that the turbine is inconel and can take lots of heat. And I hear they are efficient at high boost pressures too but then again I dont know too much
