Cleaned them up, getting ready for winter storage. (at least for ONE of them!) The NA is running good. I'm getting used to the lack of boost. I want one of those shift lights in my turbo, only set it to come on about 6600. It is amazing how different they are while being so similar.

It is like my own mini 944Fest every day!!

Anyone nearby have a set of 7x16s I can buy for snow rims?

Pauerman 12-01-2006 03:05 AM

That's a nice collection you have there! Putting the beast away for the winter must be tough. That's why I keep all mine in the garage all year long - thing is, mine are on jackstands and are partially torn apart! :)

I'm sure some of the guys can relate. :bigbye:

I like that color. Maybe it's because I like blue but it's still unique. I guess putting the turbo away for the winter would be good but I can't resist.

Nice Dan!
You've had good luck with the NA in the winter? I get a little stressed with the roads and salt about this time of year.

Dan:

Nice little collection you have their my friend, I'm very, very jealous! Well, the "girls" look very nice, clean and ready for the winter for sure. I like that blue color of the 944T, it's not that common. And not for nothing too, you have some nice homes in your community too!

Take care of those babies!

so are there plans for next august?

kasturbo 12-01-2006 09:13 AM

Dan, if I'm remembering right you have 6 cars for a three car garage. Where do you keep them all? I guess with the lift you can get 4 in there right?

caster951 12-01-2006 10:01 AM

Dan,
I can store glacier girl for you if you need me too! lol

potent951turbo 12-01-2006 10:04 AM

Your cars look great! Are you going to move the license plate up to the normal location on the NA? I see the center panel has been removed but you still have the euro valence and plate on the bumper.

944Fest (aka Dan P) 12-01-2006 11:48 AM

Thanks for the compliments, guys. The n/a is sort of a project and will get to see some winter use. Yes, I want to get the plate moved, but either way there are going to be a bunch of holes that don't belong. I have a shed that the Mini hibernates in over winter, so that and the lift gets 5 indoors.

I do not have an announcement about a future Fest. Trust me, I have been giving it some deep thought.

JonH, this will be my first winter in a 944. I have a 4x4 Toyota for when the heavy snow falls. I'm going to get some good snows on the '44 and I'm sure she will be great in 99% of it. I'm a huge fan of a well shod rear drive car in the snow. No FWD for me! One of my best winter cars (short of the 5000 Quattro) was a 80's celica. RWD, and very tossable. I learned how to drift in that car!

JonH 12-01-2006 12:02 PM

Exellent! I'm going to sell the Jetta in the spring, I think a 944NA is next. E-brake taught me alot about snow drifting growing up with GTI's (from other friends of course) :)

VERY NICE DAN. I think we should have a little race between your 67 and my 67.

ROFLMAO.. Thanks for the laugh. I bow to your 67 supremacy. While my old Dodge has a ton of motor too (440/6 with mods) I harbor absolutely NO delusions that it is fast in any way, shape or form. My couple of trips down the quarter were in the 13s, and very very scary. I've flown airplanes that were more attached to the ground. That car is absolutely the opposite of my 951, which is buttoned down and very confidence inspiring. There IS one thing it does well, the burnout. http://www.944fest.com/rubber.mpg. I always feel I need to defend that clip by saying the 295 wide tires on the rear of the old girl went on the same year I bought it, which was about 20 years ago. They are rock hard and due for replacement. Also, I was in the hotel parking lot at the 66-67 charger reunion, there were hundreds of first gen fans around. They awarded me a title for that one.

Glad to see you "girls" out. I think I will putting my turbo into storage soon here. I still can't believe how nice it has been lately!! Washed mine this week and play to fill it up one last time before putting it away.
