IIRC the rods had the same mileage as the car did...right? Prolly the reason they failed?

I'm proud to announce that I am the new owner of this fine - although mechanically "slightly" damaged - vehicle. I must be addicted to these cars as I can't seem to turn down a good deal when I see one. Don't worry Rage, with any luck it will be back on the streets in a year or two. Thanks for the extra 1/2 barrell of race fuel. I'll have to give you a ride in the yellow monster next summer for throwing that in.

Thanks Soloracer! It was sad to see it go... I owned that car for exactly 13 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Lots of memories, and lots of $$$... but I know she's in good hands now and I can't wait to see 'er back on the road again. Oh ya, I would've sold you the car for less if you countered, because I REALLY did NOT want to see the car parted, and I knew it would've been in good hands. But you said yes right away when I told u the price which was a pretty damn good deal .

Remember if u need any tuning help, I'm offering it for free.

That's the last straw Erik...I'm coming over to pick a couple bushels off your money tree

Let me see...it's easier for me to sort them by colour...You have the white one, the yellow one, and now the black one...Do you still have your 914 project? I've often wondered how that turned out.

Rage: The price was more than fair. I have a theory when dealing with friends or people that I know. They tell me what they want for what they are selling and I either take it or not. If someone else is willing to pay the asking price who am I to try and take advantage of a friend or associate just because I know them? I very rarely negotiate with friends or associates when buying something. I almost view it as taking money straight out of their accounts. I hope you won't be too dissapointed if some things make it over to my 968 - like the big red brakes for example.

Mike: Long time since we talked. I'm making progress on the 914 project. I have a very skilled gentleman working on installing the 3 rotor engine, putting on the brakes, installing the radiator, etc. After that comes the new roll cage and a paint job. Give me a shout sometime. I still want to see your blue machine....the 951 that is.

Now if you'll excuse me for a minute..........I have a phone call to make.

"Hello Rennlist Shoppers. We have a SoloRacer lost in the I Wanna Big Bore aisle. He says he's looking for a Chris White. Is Mr. White here?" *lol*

Not just a rotary 914 but a 450 HP N/A Peripheral Port 20B Three Rotor 914. Best of all...I think I can keep it below 2000 lbs. Are you my friend now?

LALALALALALALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! *fingers in ears*
Wait, that doesn't work when I'm reading, CRAP!
My wife would kill me........
Why must life be so tough?... There is a really cheap 931 for sale in another thread, and you have accumulated all of my dream cars..... it's a bad day to be me
She would understand if I defaulted on the mortgage just to collect more Porsches, don't you think?

Seriously though, that thing will be one hell of a beast. I have heard that the 20b's are an excellent match for the 914 chassis. I have dreamed about one of those for many years now, but that would be more expensive than my 951 I would imagine, and it probably wouldn't make a good daily driver.
Next time I'm in Calgary over the summer I want to take a ride in some of your other cars. After riding in your 951 mine felt so slow. Feels even slower parked in my driveway with a car cover on it though. We should organize another dyno day just to run all of your cars
