Default New DME relay-no start

My dme relay went out for good last week & refused any of the fixes. I got my new relay on 993.615.227.00.The fuel pump comes on, but no spark. The new relay shoes a resistor between 85b&87 and 85&86.ever
ythingelse looks the same. I was using a 3 jumper, but it was coming loose. So I jumpered the old relay like on Clark's.

The fuel pump only runs when cranking or the engine is running but if it is, the DME relay is working. The pump gets its power from the second of the two relays in the DME relay case and they are in series.

If your car starts and runs with Clark's jumper the problem is in the relay. I am using the 993 part and have no problems. Maybe you got a bad one. Unlikely but possible.

There are two control line to the relay, one from the DME and the other from ignition through the alarm module. If either of these are bad, the jumper will allow the car to run but the DME relay will not.

Thanks guys! That tells me where to look. Last year after a heavy rain was when this started. I run my Alpine amp stealth under behind the glove box and a few drops of water got in around the power cord & fried my amp. There's a plug up next to the altitude sensor that had some corrosion on the contacts. I believe the DME wires run thru that. This started again Monday after torrential rains. I check that plug & reseal around that amp wire.
