Rear, inline, alloy 16 valve, 2.2 turbo with water to air intercooler. About 285BHP and around 4.7 secs to 100k. Wish the 951 hooked up like it off the line.

Thanks, I like it. Not as practical as the 951 and more of a worry if I have to park it on the street. Say hullo to dad. I really enjoy his "lessons". He reminds me of Billy Connelly.

That is a very nice car, looks great. You must be very pleased with it. Lotus is always a very unique car. Why is the motor out of the 951?

For an oil change

Originally dropped the steering, crossmember and sump to check and change the big ends. Used a faulty torque wrench which stripped a few threads when refitting the sump, so required helicoil repairing. Decided then to take the motor out as I was almost there. Also had quite a few cracks in the exhaust manifold, so easier to line up and re-weld out than in. Still not satisified with the manifold repair. I got two and half sets of used manifolds and all have distorted and are misaligned with the ports on the head. Now want to separate all the main members, re-align and re-weld.

Thingo, I would be embaressed to open my engine bay near yours or Sean Looks good. If Dan polishes his motor whilst it is out for an oil change, I wont ever be able to open my hood again in this town

I was going to get Jethot in Vic to do it, but maybe Competition Coatings might be better, they are in Qld aren't they? Or are they the guys in St Peters or thereabouts?
