Default Early 944 Steel Control Arms on '87 951?

Will the early 944 Steel Control Arms, that have factory replacable ball joints, fit on an '87 951 without any spindle modification? I am looking for a suitable alternative to a)rebuilding my control arm ball joints. b) buying $1,600 Charlie Arms that have spherical bearing that will need replaced periodically with street use, ie: rain, dusty roads, etc. Any suggestions.

I know that they are different sizes. I believe the spindles would need to be changed. Yes. 85.5 control arms aren't compatible with 87 944ts arms, and i believe pre 85.5 non-turbo arms are incompatible with 85.5 turbo arms. Check Paraon, their site should clear it up. You should also check Clarks garage.
