I'm pretty sure Tommy said that the fuel in itself gives no power increase, just the ability to increase boost which then gives more power.

I have seen two definitions of VE. The first one calculates cylinder filling relative to the athmospheric pressure and the second one relative the boost pressure. For the first one VE increases per definition with a boost increase and for the second it doesn't.
I like the second definition much better and uses it whenever I talk about VE. It tells me more about the engine.

Something tells me that you already knew all of this...

Hay buddy. That was a low blow. Keep in mind that I made 355 rwhp with a ford maf and 55 lb injectors. To bad you can't purchase hp out of a science book.

" So upping boost from 18 to 24 psi gives no power"

He was refering to the homebrew and/or running higher octane does not give more power.

Turning the boost up does, assuming you have not readed the turbo's inneffeciancy range and are jsut making more heat.

I know high octane doesn't make more power...faster burn speed does. A guy I know who was big on dragracing two-strokes tried using acetone as both a detonation control tool and for getting a faster burn. He said he had a 4% increase in power without changing anything when he dynoed it,same engine, same fuel, just acetone added. What amount of aromatics he used,I have no clue.

If Tool makes a decent brew,it should have hypersonic burn speed making him able to run 1.2 degrees of ignition at 6K rpm thereby reducing losses.

Now...if the guy you know dragraces Kawi triples and is a general lunatic...then it's funny. And a small world.

More than I care to remember... but it's hard to forget the sights and sounds of a H2 reworked to 920cc's rev'in 13K on aromatics and N2O...

Lets put it this way. I was standing behind ST's car while it was running and my blue jeans turned white. What do you think?

In all seriousness - I do have a special fuel that I mix just for the 951 and I am happy with it now and use it consistantly.
It performed better in the 951 than the VP race fuels.
It consists of a few different things.

So what % of acetone can you run safely?
