"I just bought Erik's old '86 951 and that is a no-sunroof US model. Also came ordered without the rear wiper, lowered, and no cruise control. Would have been cloth interior with driver's side sport seat (damnit!!!!!!!), but there are some momos in place of it.
Erik, the head is primo now, and I'm going to paint it red"
nice, it will be a red head!
I hope whoever does it knows what they are doing, some things he said raised an eyebrow.
btw: it's Eric, not Erik. Erik is my evil twin who's only purpose in life is to take over the world and I (Eric) am the sole person who can stop him.
(it's either that or the other way around, I forget which one does what)

I saw a white 86 turbo w/out a sunroof @rockingham for a track event two weeks ago. Very clean car, had fuchs if I remember correctly. Anyway, I do think the cars look cleaner w/out sunroofs, but I wouldn't give mine up. Anybody have pictures of the "empty" sunroof panels yet?
Now cloth sport seats, there's something I'd really like.

OK, sorry for the delay.
First is a shot of the stock sunroof panel, second is a shot of the extra one with the interior panel and trim removed and sprayed satin black on the underside to match the interior, last is a shot of the the two next to each other to compare.......

Thanks for the pictures. I've stripped a couple of sunroof panels, and yours looks different, what year car did the naked roof come from (if you know)?
BTW, not that you didn't already know, but your car's very attractive.

The naked roof came from an 88 924S. It was Zermatt and I sprayed it Guards to match, then sprayed the underside in a satin black trim paint. I didn't do any modifications to it from it's stock condition, other than the removed trim and adhesive strips and foam residue.

Reviving this old thread, because I’m curious and don’t see the answer anywhere. I have an ‘86 non-sunroof 951, and there’s another down here for sale (fire damage car). Anyone know how many non-sunroof 951s were imported to the US?

Where are you located? Looking for a 951 shell.

Also reviving this old thread to see if anyone knows of a sunroof delete 951 for sale anywhere in the states?
Can be a beater or blown motor as it will be used as a track car.
