Default Huntley MAF with other chips...

Specifically Huntley Stage 4 MAF with an ARCII. Which is what I have but I desperately need a DME chip. I have no idea what the MAF is calibrated either but I figured I could fine tune any chip with the ARCII and a wideband...

...any opinions, or a DME chip for sale that would work (I have a '88 non-S)??

btw, thanks to Rennlist members buying some of my parts I paid up and joined Rennlist just now. "'bout damn time!"

I'm running a Stage III with Guru chip.
Ideally you would want a chip that's
map for your specific set-up. The ARC
is pretty course in it's adjustment.
You do not want to manupilate the
***** too much as from what I understand,
it will compromise the timing.

Ideally I would like a chip made for my setup but I'm questioning if not knowing the exact calibration on the MAF is going to be a problem getting a chip??

Do like me. Connect a DVM on the output of
the MAF at least to check out the idle voltage
first & go form there. A better solution is to map
chip on a dyno. That's the best as at the end of
the day, there will be not signal massaging.
Get in touch with tuners & take it from there.

WTG on the membership. You might contact Vitesse about your situation and see if he has a good and cost effective solution for your set up.

I have a DME chip from Vitesse going into action this month with a Huntley (Ford) MAF. I'll still keep the ARC-2 for fine tuning, if needed. I'll post my results.

Happy New Year all!

Huntley used APE stage 2 chips with his Stage 3 and 4 MAFs. I ran those for years with the Stage 4, ARC2 and "Stage 2" HR turbo -- all worked fine except a tendency to run overly rich in the 4-5k range at WOT.

"I have a DME chip from Vitesse going into action this month with a Huntley (Ford) MAF"

Interesting as John told me he did not want to mess with chips for Huntley as he had no idea what the calibration was...anyhoo.

I have Huntley stg3 and GURU 18 chips and ARC2. The MAF/ARC2 and injectors, 450cc, just got installed. I just got my wideband in and will fine tune this week. But as for know I got it to idle and run fine, even though I am running a bit rich for safety until I know what my a/f's are.

Also, I have bigger injectors, but kept the FQS in the stock inkjector location. Figured it would give mroe room to grow to keep that way and dial back the fuel, as oppsed to adding fuel.

I was told the same thing by John about my Huntley maf. You would think that with all the people on here running a Huntley maf, it would be beneficial to figure out what the calibrations are. Unless it's just a way to sell us a new maf.

How did you talk John into doing chips for you Brian?

I am sure it is trial only - as noone knows the calibration of the famous Huntley MAF's - not even Huntley!!!

How can the calibration be tested so that someone (John) would know?
